Dwight Gooden and Darryl Strawberry are correct, but not Canseco. He was on the '00 team.

Nope, Chili was on the '98 and '99 teams.

Gantry

Jimmy Key?  Clemens?

chicobo329

Clemens was on the later teams '99 and '00 for sure, but not '96. Jimmy Key is correct though!

There's two more NES RBIers actually, even though I initially asked for five. One should be fairly obvious (I'm surprised he wasn't guessed yet), the other is more obscure.

BeefMaster

I think that predated Clemens' time in NY - I think one of his Cys with the Blue Jays was in '97.

How about David Cone?

Does it count as cheating that I'm pretty sure I just found one after looking at the NES rosters?  Or is it not cheating until you actually look up the '96 Yanks?  I will hold off on naming him until we get a ruling from the judges.

It's not cheating if you look up the RBI rosters, I mean, they're all right there on the dee-nee site X^D I guess it's cheating if you look at the '96 roster itself.

I have a handy roster on me to check, not just from my personal experience being a Yankees fan, but also from the '96 World Series poster I have in my room X^D

chicobo329

Oh and David Cone is correct, but he isn't in NES RBI X^D My question was specific to the first RBI game on the NES.

Checking my poster that I just mentioned, there's actually an even more obscure player out there, so feel free to guess the other two players left. I'm still stunned that a more obvious player hasn't been guessed yet.

You're supposed to have a roster - you're the guy who has to verify the answers.

Boggs was the "duh!" one I found, on the first RBI roster I looked at.

Why the heck did I think Cone was in RBI?  My brain is worthless.

Boggs is right and I am relieved that he was finally guessed X^D

Since five have been guessed properly, I can safely say the obscure RBIer on the '96 team was Mike Aldrete.

fathedX

Mike Aldrete?  Holy crap, that was impossible.

chicobo329

Yeah I guess it was X^D But hey, now you know!

How about David Cone?

What.... the....   fuck?

chicobo329

Well maybe if my question was to name five players from RBI 2 or RBI 3, maybe that would be valid! X^D

Attezz

Didn't Aldrete pitch that year?

Yeah, that was really weak... I think I either put him in Saberhagen's spot on AL or Ojeda's spot on the Mets.  I'm terrible.
