Gerlost:

Steve Lake, now there's an old Chicago baseball name.

But how did you lose AND win because of him? Do you guys switch teams in the middle of a tournament?

In this year's national tourney, I lost a game because I gave up a Steve Lake home run, then the next day I won a game by hitting a home run with Steve Lake.

I win.

<-----------------Called a home run, pre pitch, with Tommy Herr.

Your move...

yes.  on account of there not really being a difinitive order of teams from best to worst a system was devised to have a rotating set up where u play with various teams.  for the most part the macth-ups are fair so no one gets screwed in that manner.

Strassy is in the Chicago area (somewhere in the suburbs, right?). He and Nacho attempted to play RBI Baseball for 24 hours straight last year, falling short, but making an heroic effort none the less.

Also, Pat, you might want to contact Mike Beales - he runs the RBI Championship of the Universe Tournament on odd-numbered years in the Chicago suburbs. You can contact him through the RBI COTUT website at http://www.rbibaseballcotut.com/. Last year's tournament had 16 players, and I'm sure that he could give you a good perspective on the competitive side of things.

I don't know why Gantry is ducking you. Wanted for tax evasion? We'll work on him.

there are also folks complaining about the lack of Bobby Grich, Dwight Evans, and Willie Randolph.

Congrats Nomaaa.  Dee-Nee's new Sandwich King.

I'd also like to say that i was part of a four man team that finished 24 consecutive hours of RBI.  A feat that hasn't yet been topped.  And I'm 100% certain that Briz and I will soon be completing a 2 man session sometime in the near future.

He is right... And if needed, we will make it happen at one of our friends places in the Chicagoland area.

Lies...  Not if you were following the strict rules... You would be dead

GoReds and I tried drinking watch game with beer in 2001 and just finished all the drinks we owed about 3 weeks ago.

AlecTrevylan006

Oh, we didn't play by the strictest rules... we stopped when my friend had taken seven and a half shots in eight minutes. Though we'll make him finish that game some day...

I believe we played 70 games straight, listening to nothing but the RBI music for about 60 of those games.

Briznock

24 hours or RBI music is the best...

And as GoReds put it best, Tengen Field was burnt into our retinas.

The Trib reporter is coming to my house tomorrow night (Friday 7:30 PM) to do a write up and photo shoot for the article.  Beales and I will be there but he would like there to be 3-4 players so if anyone else local (possibly Gantry or  Strassy) is interested in showing up PM me ASAP
