Does anyone prefer righties?

The dee-nee crew have long been big fans of the left-handed hitters, and I was a bit surprised to find out that most of you are just as big on the lefties.   Now is there anyone there who actually prefers right-handed hitters?

I have noticed that some of our casual friends start off hitting better with righties and then gradually become lefty fans.  Once the poor-swinging casual fan wins a game with Detroit, they never go back...

My friends and I have played curve for the majority of our R.B.I. careers, I have found that we are concerned more with the match up with the pitcher as far as batting lefty or righty.  Much like in real life, the lefty hitters see the pitch coming from a righty longer than the righty hitters and vice-versa. Many times a sub pitch/hitter is made to even out an advantage in a righty vs. lefty situation.
If you're wearing rubbers take them off before you come in.

I'd have to say that I hit better with the righties.  It seems as thought the righties have all the breaks up there but I feel more comfortable with the righty.  I think it might be that in my early days of R.B.I. I would pick Boston every time and beat all the teams so i could see my team toss my pitcher in the air.  Boston has many righties so i think i got a lot of practice that way.

on my last response i made a little mistake. I meant to write that the lefties have all the breaks at the plate with the lefty hit and lots of righty pitchers.

I have to say that the matchup is important, for example when I am playing with Detroit I like all my subs, Sheridan and Madlock are my top 2, if they start a righty Shridan goes in, lefty starter Madlock goes in.

But overall I hit much better with lefites, and in curve style I strike out a lot more with rightys than lefties.

there is nothing worse than facing a bunch of lefties in a row with runners on base cause the chance of getting a lefty hit increases with each opportunity.  The three teams that come to mind are DT, HO and SL.  Of course, the latter two are much weaker but they do have their moments.

I think the lefty hit is the true key to their power.  There is no doubt that if you have runners on base, you would rather have a lefty up there.  If you get a proper swing, it's very difficult to hit into a double-play with a lefty.  With a righty however, many good swings will end up in ground ball double-plays...

for some reason, i dont get the results with lefties i do with righties.  one would think that the lefties would clean up against right handers.  however, in curve style, the pitcher can repeatedly paint the outside corner causing the lefty to ground out weakly to short.  for me, i have much better results if i have a righthanded hitter at the plate even though they are bound to roll into a few more twin killings.

I gotta go with the lefties, besides Dykstra,Mookie, the Wizard, and the Firecracker, they all seem to hit with power.

I'd much rather hit with a powerful righty than a powerful lefty.

But I'd much rather hit with a weak lefty than a weak righty.

I'd say that is true if there is nobody on base or 2 outs.

I just hate batting with any righty in a DP situation.

I don't care so much with the power guys, but it's certainly the case with a weak hitter - it's much easier to hit a ball the opposite way than to pull one, so you can more often pull off a Pettis with a lefty.

I assume you are talking power hitters more so than slap hitters.  In this case, I do generally prefer righties....most pitchers are R and in ATG, most think the R-R or L-L match up is preferred by the hitter.

The dee nee tard mixed in with gantry looks a little bit like TBT

My favorite team is Boston, and I don't care if they're righty-dominated with that much power.

When I'm playing random, a team with plenty of left handers is obviously better.

I love righties in straight pitch, which is what my friends and I all play. I never had the original RBI as a kid, so I had RBI 2 and had to play agaisnt my dad. Being a righty hitter myself as a kid, I always subbed lefties for righty batters, and learned with them. Now it's second nature, and you can't beat the righty power coming from boston in straight pitch.
