A radio station, as part of an April Fool's Day prank, was extending their "thoughts and prayers" to the friends and family of Don Mattingly, with the intention of explaining later in the day that he had cut himself shaving and that they were concerned.  Don's sons heard about it at school, though, and became worried about their dad.

On an unrelated note, did anyone else know that Don's son Taylor was drafted by the Yankees?  It was mentioned in the story, and that was the first I'd heard of it.

I'm sure the draft of his son was a personal favor.  Maybe he'll turn out like Piazza (another guy drafted as a favor.)
