Some funky lights there...

Donuts at a baseball game?  Those wacky Japanese...

Has anybody been able to find out when the stadium opened? Maybe try emailing the bloggers? If nobody wants to, this will give me something to do at work tomorrow.

Was that on the blog post?

wow, the other thing i noticed about the pic is that the infield doesn't have an inner line that would delineate the where the grass ends and the dirt begins.  i've brought this up about the game years ago, this lack of a line on the astroturf is consistent with the rendering in rbi.  now why didn't they put a warning track in the game??

ps, now tbt, you might be able to actually get the seat configuration rendered for your tattoo!

my brain.

I cannot prove it's not true, however.

When I went to Japan, I went to a Tokyo Swallows game.  The stadium is almost exactly the same, I think I found your answer.

That definitely wins, nice work Bobby!

Looks like the light poles coming up in the outfield are even in similar spots... nicely done.  My only complaint is that the Tokyo stadium is blue while the Yokahama one is green like Tengen Field.

Thanks man.  I remember when I was at that game I kept thinking that I was at the RBI stadium.  It looked exactly like it .  Esp. with the blue fencing, dirt cut outs around the bases, the big lights, similar out field seating, and a comparable scoreboard and batters eye.

p.s.  It's Barry, the greatest ever.

interesting new find with that latest blue-seated stadium.  beef, i'm not sure what you meant about the japanese stadiums being colored, do you mean the OF walls or the outside facade?  i'll include pics below, also of family stadium which the rbi stadium was obviously modeld after between the two games themselves.

some interesting queries now arise from the pics posted ABOVE  ^:

1. what's with the "piccari" inscription behind the plate in Family Stadium?

2. the famista version does not have a green line on the top of the outfield stands like rbi has.  there's also no white line on top of any of the walls deliniating the wall from the fans.

3. ive made this point before, that the screen cap "10" from "today's game" screen in rbi shows the batter's eye as blue, and not black like it is during game play.  that's the reason i contend it's not a scoreboard, but if you look at the real pictures of Meiji Jingu where the yakult swallows play that bonds posted, you can see that there are multiple scoreboards (most likely added within the last 20 years) that probably turn off during actual play.  sort of like how yankee stadium does that because they would be in the batters line of sight.

4. (pictured below) here's  a look back in to home plate from dead centerfield.  this is the only think that i can find that doesn't fit with this stadium being the rbi stadium.  there's huge stands set up behind homplate with a press box and second level.  now maybe that was added in the last 20 years as well.

Most "civilized" countries have street cameras, actually, Baltimore has them as well, a FUCKING TON of them.

Thank god for the ACLU and the Montana Militia.
