Ok, my friend has an arcade standup rbi cabinet in his basement. We play very competitively against one another. We use only 1 starting pitcher plus relievers and play 7 game series. Anyhow we've have played well over 1000 games on this machine and be both thought it was impossible to hit a home run with a pitcher but it finally happened yesterday in our series of Cin vs. Chi.  The details were Bucky was up in the 3rd facing Sutcliffe.  He curved one in to the inside of the plate trying to jam me and I stepped back and just happened to make perfect contact. Walters hit easily the longest ball fair or foul ive ever seen a pitcher hit.  Of course it went down the leftfield line and through the wall, however it very nearly cleared it. (over 3/4 up the wall.) It was the greatest moment ive ever had playing rbi. i was dancing a jig for about 10 minutes. I truly believed it was impossible to do with a pitcher. It's amazing how many games of rbi ive played both arcade and nes, and every once in a while ill see something ive never seen before. sidenote: bucky was 3 for 4 in the game with a single between ss and 3rd and a seeing eyer through the right side.  ive never posted on here before but enjoy reading the forums and i had to relay this story to the few people in the world who would understand/enjoy it. Telling my wife or most anybody for that matter that i just hit a homerun with bucky walters on a video game made in the 80's would draw some strange looks. Anyways, for anyone who ever doubted it, it absolutely can be done, on arcade at least. Still never seen on nes though.

Nice work, most of us haven't seen it but it has been verified by enough credible sources that we believe it can happen (apparently only as a wallzie).  I think than HR clinches Walters being the MVP of the Arcade version.  So good.

Awesome post KidKool, thanks for chipping in!  We still have never seen a pitcher dong, but Lips and I have perfected a technique that is getting us ever closer.  For some reason Doyle Alexander is the best hitting pitcher with said technique...

3/4th up the wall is definitely the "best" pitcher homer I've ever heard of, well done...

maybe arcade, but i am less familiar with that anyhow.  also, pitchers rarely get pitched fastballs which would be necessary for this to happen.  i still wont believe until i see it.

I don't think pitch speed has anything to do with the ability to hit for distance.  I think it only has to do with what part of the bat the ball gets hit.

Don't believe it.  This new guy is probably just a fake Darky ID.

Exactly.  Broiler is retarded.

but fastballs have less movement and more of a chance to be right down the center where the bat can make better connection.

Brookensrules!

I hit one out once with Rick Reuschel on the NES.  That's the only pitcher homer I have seen in around 1000 games.

I've never actually seen one, but I've heard from enough people (the two on this thread, plus Baines) that I believe it can be done, albeit only as a wallzie.  Closest I've seen was a Watch Game a couple years ago in an RBI fantasy league, in which Jimmy Key hit one that might've hit the base of the wall.
