I pick players to play Empire heads up style ball.

Speed is a good attribute. The players about +140 speed are able to use their speed as an above average asset, despite the computer's lunacy when running the bases. Not that far above average like the power-contact algorithm...I should say.

I really don't like players with low contact numbers, high power ratings, and no speed. I will not tolerate double plays.

Sometimes in the past when I'd be debating between certain players I'd make up teams full of them and have them play a game, the winner got the nod.

Congrats Nomaaa.  Dee-Nee's new Sandwich King.

yes, i am antsy about it.  it's just about the only thing in RBI that i'm good at.  i get a little bit like ultimate7 with fantasy drafts.

you should see my spreadsheet/stat compiling i do to break all this down.

Jim Rice goes to the Empire.  My second pick was a tough decision, but I am very satisfied with my pick. Jim Rice is as steady as they come in this league. He is an Empire type player and should fit in really well in our program.

Nacho and Mike D taking Straw and E.Davis=bad move

Childhood friends on the same team is a disaster waiting to happen.

the other thing about the sallycunts move is that they didn't select Hrbek who is usually the turnaround pick at #11 in the past drafts.  he fell to 13, the lowest he's ever gone.

He's over rated. He hit under .400 last year and had only 7 bombs with 13 rbi. Too inconsistent, though he did have 19 bombs and hit over .600 in season II I think.

However, I think an 18 game season would be to his benefit.

They ramped up steroid testing and he had a bad year.  Now that A-Rod has made it cool to do roids again Hrbek's back on the juice and he'll be at peak performance.

anyone ever notice that if you drop a deuce on someones windshield in sub-freezing temperatures, its pretty damn hard to get off once it freezes.

Ryno has the next pick, so I'll give him a little while to do it himself, but he did proxy me his pick in case he had to be away. So I'll post it no later than 30 minutes from now...or sooner if you guys want.
I have the next pick after ryno, but i can wait a half hour.  I'd rather have the person make the pick for themself, at least at this early juncture.

Gotchya TBG...

About Ultimate's pick of Raines...great pick. He was not high on my list though...

Damn... Gibson is gone, though I am not saying he was 100 percent my next pick. Nice call Ryno. He did have a solid year last year. Hit almost .600 and had 7 jacks.

I'm gonna be gone for the better part of this evening and most of the day tomorrow, would someone mind texting me when I'm up and I'll be able to get back pretty quickly?

Also, be aware that I'll enter your number into my phone as a girl's name, in order to make the girl all jealous and paranoid (yeah, I'm mature).

You can proxy me your picks if you want. Or somebody else. I'm sure you can do your next pick shortly.

I'm against proxying, doesn't allow to change strategies when a run on pitchers start.

Nacho

I think it is strange that the person who is the most antsy when other people are up (TBG) wasn't quite ready when his turn came around.  Get on it, man!

Attezz

Even Kasparov needed bathroom breaks against Deep Blue.

Darky, it's never cool to name names in a draft.

It's all wall out war man...The Empire adheres to no such stringent ideologies.
