ATTN: Gantry-Question about server for nes fceu ultra

I recall you had a like a 3rd party connection thingy for RBI play. Potatoes something I don't remember. I have two owners who can't host and I was wondering if that was still available. If so could I get host name/port id and which emulator to use? Thanks!

The guys over at JCL SNES Tecmo Coaching League use Hamachi.  I tried it out once just for the eff of it and it worked pretty well...

Although I usually question people's "inability" to host...99/100 times it's because they don't know how to portforward, .5 times it's cause they're stealing their neighbor's wireless, and .5 it's because they simply can't due to where they live or certain hard-ware restrictions.

I can't tell you how many times I spent time helping someone who I asked to disable their software firewall only to find out 1 hour in that they had norton resource suckfest extreme running on their machine.

Potatoes is officially retired, the FCE software ain't running on it anymore and I'm too lazy to get it back up and running.  Plus customers use it for certain things and running a NES emulation server is not the best of ideas.

Tecmoturd I agree with you 100%. I tried helping these guys host, but it's like pulling teeth. I have 1 or 2 guys who can't host. I was able to get everyone else set up no problems.

I honestly don't mind helping people get setup though.  Everyone should get the chance to play, and the community has given to me so many times, being a vet (at least a vet over in TecmoLand) I sort of feel like it's my duty to at least help out a newb when possible, and many times it takes about a half hour and the person's setup.

Anyways, I'd recommend Hamachi if you really want a 3p way to host...it works pretty well, actually.
