awesome.  if you can hook up with that achildprodigy kid (i think he's in japan, or at least is japanese) you will makefor a huge force in rbi mods/hacks.

he's the guy that did the stadium edits or wrigley, yankee stadium and fenway.

He also posted about four posts prior to this one.

Jstout said he Was running out of space the way it was, so prob a no go on stadiums. I couldn't care less about that anyways. 30 teams is plenty for me.

He also investigated the pitcher unknowns and determined that they get loaded based off of certain pitches, and might indicate how good those pitchers are at those pitches. Nothing is certain as of now on that.

He also explained that the long team hack is unnecessary, as the game can handle any size string. He'll elaboratemore when he gets me the locations.

this would be huge for fantasy players as many people presume it affects pitcher performance.  the bottom line is that we don't know and there's few things about the game at this point that are unknown.

I thought more about the editor thing, and the more I do that, the more I realize RBI Tool style editing isn't for this community, so when the ROM is ready, I vow to try and make a more straightforward, non-confusing editor.  Don't know how long that'll take, but that's my plan...

Bag, people just said a few times now that they were confused, which I get, so I figured I'd change my way of thinking to help get this project moving forward. 30 team rom is useless without an editor.

"Attract Mode is done showing all 30 teams (it previously only showed first 10).  I have tried everything I can think of for the scoreboard glitch (I made default VISITOR and HOME tiles on the scoreboard to lose the glitch look but can't find a way for initials to work).

But, that wasn't perfect either had to go to just V and H..."

I think a 30 team rom (and the possibilities of editing such a rom) demands the development of a fair formula to translate player stats into RBI numbers so there can be easy/consistent implementation of entire league years into RBI. 

If I were smart I would be all over this.  But I'm not.

Really it all boils down to how to rate pitchers.  I've got a setup, while tedious, that works for me.  I'll just have to continue to hone those ratings as I go along.

I should be receiving another update of the ROM today.  Yesterday, he added the ability to show all 30 teams on the attract mode screen, and that screen shows City and Team Name now, which is cool.

just fyi on the angels in the 30 team rom:

napoli hits twice (both 7th and 8th), but there are attributes in the 7 hole that correspond with aybar.  guerrero bats righty.  the game has him as left.  substitute abreu for quinlan on the bench and put abreu at the top of the bench list.

actually, the way the season started before all the injuries was to have abreu in left and vladi in RF, but early injuries and rivera coming on strong prompted vladi to DH (if not the DL). then rivera was put in left. 

anyway, i'm just nitpicking becasue it's my team      the pitching looks perfect.

Please note that the ratings on this ROM are not 100% up to date.  I plan on tweaking these after the season is over, these were done earlier for a league, so they aren't perfect, but I think they still represent well.

Same with the colors...these will be overhauled once I get the editor done.

AWESOME!! I have been waiting for this for a long time!! Once everything is finished & ready to edit, I'm going to make 2 seasons... 1989 & 1990. Once I'm done with these files I will send them to convert into real NES carts, then open up the carts of RBI 2 & RBI 3 & throw away those waste of rom chips!! With the classic RBI 1 gameplay engines in both games, I can PROUDLY say to the whole world that RBI 2 & 3 are actually great games & how the games that should of been made 20 years ago. Maybe it's time to make it a personal quest/mission to the world in buying both carts of RBI 2 & 3, convert them, then send them back into used shops so that world won't have to hide in fear with the old RBI 2 & 3 carts anymore. At least i know that I done some good for the world...LOL!!

Now if possible for a DH hack &/or extra pitcher in the rotation?

I'm guessing a DH hack wouldn't be terrible to do - nightwulf hacked in per-pitcher batting stats, so you'd basically just need a way to associate that ninth spot in the lineup with someone other than the pitcher.  For now, a quick-and-dirty method would be to give all four pitchers the ratings of the player you wanted as DH - he'd have the wrong name when he batted, but you'd know who he was, and he wouldn't be a completely useless hitter.

I would note that as someone opposed to the DH rule, I don't care too much whether a DH is added, but I think ROMs with every team should take advantage of the pitcher batting hack, if only to make Micah Owings awesome.

All the main hacks are already present in the 30 team rom by default. I considered it a new game, so I had him put the good hacks in, plus some other goodies. The other stuff will be selectable on the editor.
