Hi!  New to the board... long time RBI player...  I have a few preferences/habits and would like to know what other players do.  I like to throw the ball against the wall when I get an out at first by running towards third and then throwing to first.. it just gets me in a rhythm.  Also, I do like righties better!!!  A lefty is hard as hell to hit when the pitcher is throwing curveballs that hit the outside corner... i just get way back in the box and foul a lot off until i finally hit one.

I also have a habit of throwing the ball at the wall after i make an out.  I like to see how many errors i can get in a game.   I like hitting with righties because when i use a lefty, righty pitchers usually jam me.

It is considered EXTREMELY disrespectful to throw the ball away with less than 3 outs in an inning.  It violates general sportsmanship, and is considered a slap in the face.

I will often throw at the next batter I can if someone does this to me.

I never throw the ball away with people on base just when there is an easy play at first.  Like I said it is to get in "the zone" as they call it.  Another think i do is try to hit a home run with every batter and I hit a ton of hrs this way and when it doesn't work i get a lot of hits anyway so it is a win-win.  Long live the token homer!!!

I never throw the ball away when there is less than 3 outs with runners on base because it is obviously not a good play if u have intentions on winning.  But sometimes it does happen to me because im used to doing it all the time.

Running off the base and throwing it at the wall is a bad habit to get into.  Ryan Express does that to me and once in a while he will forget there are guys on base and throw it against the wall, resulting in a merry go round.

And I agree with Blyleven No No- I consider it disrespectful- like turning 2 with no one on base.

to me,  the "aaron" as we call it is just annoying... i think he is trying to see how many errors he can rack up.

if there's no one on base and you run off the bag and throw it at the wall, do they give you an error?

a bad habit i have is that if i feel like i got squeezed on a pitch (COME ON BLUE!), then i always serveup the next pitch for a bomb.

I also have the habit,  after an out at first, (with no runners on), of moving the first baseman towards homeplate, then throwing the ball to the right field wall, to see if I can hit it. So far it has never happened. But I agree, that these strange idiosyncracies help get you into a defensive rhythym.

Gwynn3k

of course the rbi people give them an error even if nobody is on base...  just as if you hit a solid single to the outfield and the outfielder bops it...it goes as an error and not a hit.

I am a big fan of throwing the ball off the wall after an out.  I like to rack up the errors and it keeps the rhythm going...

I run to second and throw to first, that's the easiest way to get the BOP.  It has to hit the wall before it counts as an out....

I don't see how it's bad sportsmanship, as it has nothing to do with the offensive player....

Blyleven_No-No

you're wrong.  It does not count as an error when you run away from the base and throw it back.

Now what was not mentioned is that you can throw the ball to first base, and then quickly throw it around the horn.  But the ump calls the runner safe as in your first baseman never touched the bag.

It does count as an error if the ball hits the barricade, otherwise it doesn't

Gwynn3k

the aaron works best when you run towards third and then throw it back towards the box seats...resulting in an error every time.

I also like to throw the ball into the outfield after an out. I mostly do it to end the inning after the third out as a way to say to my opponet, "go get it bitch".

All these habits are dangerous.  You might think there are 2 outs and do it, if runners on base, that is trouble.  I've seen it happen especially in bong hit rbi.

One of my personal favs is to bat from all the way at the back of the box when using Mookie Wilson.  I have dubbed this "Mookie Stance", and he seems to go yard much more frequently from this position.  Also its easier to draw an HBP if a curveball gets away from a pitcher.

i always run towards home and throw it into right field...ive done it for years...i cant really say why i do it at all...its just a habit...not to disrespect, but more my "around the horn"

I got started throwing the ball away by doing it once when i got the third out.  I hit the wall and after the bop noise was made, the inbetween innings music was played and the bop messed up the music at the beginning.  So i try to make that happen every time i get the third out.

  • I must sit to the right of my opponent
  • Every batter uses the Tettleton (except for the pitcher)
  • Upon recording an out at first base, I attempt to throw the ball all the way to
3rd base before it switches to the next AB
  • I cuss at the players to make them perform better
  • I use the "retreat" for power hitters but not contact or shitty guys
