We are about 8 months late on our RBI tourney for 2009, so we are doing it today.  Gonna be a five man tourney as we have no time for a qualifier.  The entrants:

1) Gantry
2) Lips
3) Potsie
4) Sperling
5) Rack

Should be very interesting, but can't figure out a good format.  May have to do a one-game round robing or something - any ideas?

Pool play (each player plays everyone else, either once or twice).  Top two records in pool play for the championship

Alright, the festivities have begun.  The abbreviated 3-man qualifier is between Mark, Potsie, and Jason.  They will play each other two times.  The two best records move onto the real tourney.  If everyone is tied at (2-2), then the player with the biggest run differential will move on, while the other two play off in a 1 player tourney with team choice going to the winner of the one-on-one series.  Second tie-breaker is HRs/inning.

Mark (Det) and Pots (Bos) are up...

Holy shit, the qualifier is going to be at a huge inebriation disadvantage.

That second tie-breaker is for the automatic qualifier, if three teams tie at (2-2) and tie at run differential.

To determine the choice of team (if needed), run differential is determined by the one-on-one series run differential and then HRs.

Yeah, we are being nice...because we have been so bad in getting the 2009 tourney going.

So the qualifier tourney doesn't have drinking rules, but all three currently have a beer near.

I'm winning this shit, Pots showed up half drunk and has the qualifier - he'll be 10-12 drinks in before the drinking rules start.  If he qualifiers, he's in for a world of hurt.

Lips sucks, Rack sucks and Sperling is my boy but he can't beat me.  Therefore, I win

anyone ever notice that if you drop a deuce on someones windshield in sub-freezing temperatures, its pretty damn hard to get off once it freezes.

Lips

Alright, late reply here as we had to move cars because of the snow and fear of getting towed.

Mark comes from behind to score 9 in the 7th and 8th to win 19-18.

Jason (bo) 18, 13 hr

Potsie climbed to an early lead  off Rack thanks to 2 hits and 2 runs with LARRY HERNDON in his first two ABs.  May be the first time in tourney history Herndon got a hit in an official game.  3rd AB with Herndon up, runner on first and Pots puts in Sheridan.  Lips starts yelling at him that it was a mistake.  Sheridan fouls out (double play) and Lips hasn't let him heard the end of it.  Since that sub Potsie lost all momentum and Rack has the lead...

Pots mounted a comeback in the 9th but it was too late:

Jason (Bo) - 15, 11 HRs
Pots (Dt) - 13, 9 HRs

Standings

Mark (2-0), +6 rd, 19 hr
Jason (1-1), +1 rd, 24 hr
Pots (0-2), -7 rd, 17 hr
