With the success of the 1987 ROM, anyone want to do the same sort of project for the Arcade version? Best players in history for each team...might be kind of cool...

TβG

we would first need to agree on criteria for what teams guys play on.  don baylor, for example, is a tough call.  and do you want to include active players?  i believe the original did include active players.

Yep...I don't even care how it goes, we can discuss all that. I just thought it would round out the set of cool community ROMs we have.  If we can agree on some of those things, I'll setup the editor for it.

I just thought I'd dangle it out there to see what kind of interest there would be in this.  My 2010 ROM will soon become official, so I won't be tweaking that so often.

TβG

you like to tweak, don'tcha?  are you sure you're not from iowa instead wisconsin?

I could throw a Twins/Senators roster together in a matter of minutes.  Hell, here's a rough draft:

Starting lineup:
Carew 2B
Mauer C
Puckett CF
Killebrew 3B
Hrbek 1B
Goslin LF
Oliva RF
Cronin SS

Bench (Morneau is a given, then pick three):
Morneau
Rice
Sievers
Gaetti
Hunter
Yost
Knoblauch

Johnson
Blyleven/Santana
Aguilera (Firpo Marberry would also be good here for a more retro flavor)
Nathan

Off the top of my head, here's an attempt at the Yankees (and I'm sure I'm forgetting someone):

Berra C
Nettles 3B

Draft Twins ratings (just guidelines for pitchers):
Starting lineup (CT PWR SPD):
Carew 6 789 143
Mauer 6 833 128
Puckett 8 845 134
Killebrew 22 934 124
Hrbek 21 888 120
Goslin 7 822 128
Oliva 10 867 126
Cronin 14 802 126

Bench
Morneau 18 881 122
Rice 11 770 142
Sievers 23 879 124
Hunter 27 859 138

Johnson - should be awesome, as he is often regarded as the best pitcher ever
Santana - maybe a high differential in speeds, to reflect his great change-up?
Aguilera - unremarkable, basically a solid closer but nothing special
Nathan - good "normal" velocity to reflect excellent slider

Cripes, wasn't expecting this much of a response...I'll be "off" for tonight and tomorrow night, but when I'm back in business, I'll setup the editor.  Those who are still interested can hop on and edit away...

We come with a standard criteria, best individual season or career?  I say best individual season and make it a slugfest - whatever team you have the best year gets em
