Not a problem.  I've already got the standings sheet updated through week 8 (it's pretty trivial to update), and I think I just need to enter week 8 for my team's individual stats.  Is the latest copy of that sheet the one from Ryno?

Oh yeah. I don't have the stats even halfway down, but judging by what I have seen, Viola is having a great year and should be in the top 3-4 for ERA when the stats are done. I think the pitchers who are doing extremely well this year are Viola, Gooden, Morris, Sutton, and Byleven...I think Cox is right there too. Let's just say that Nacho made a huge pick when he grabbed Viola before the OC did during the draft. He was the wildcard.

I was just wondering if there was a different copy of the sheet I should add my data to.  Not sure it matters, as you can just copy and paste from my version anyway.

I'm using the definition from Wikipedia for what I came up with:



The only thing I changed from yours was accounting for sac flies (on the assumption that any SAC was a SF).  I did kind of cheat for that, by switching the denominator to use PA instead of AB+BB+HBP+SF.  Since the only ways to get a plate appearance not included in the official denominator are sacrifice hits (which can't happen in watch games) and catcher's interference (ditto), I figured that was safe.  Unless something got screwed up in my formula, the only guys who should have a BA different from their OBP are players who have hit sac flies or drawn walks.

I notice that you have reaching on an error as part of the OBP formula as well.  That's not part of the official definition; not sure whether it's useful to keep or not, to help with the value of speed or something.  As it stands, guys who reach on errors would have OBPs better than their BA, as it treats that like an out for BA but reaching base for OBP.  I'm fine with however you want to do it.

And it is funny. What if Nacho would have took Alexndr instead of Viola? I forgot which round it was, but I do recall that Nacho's turn was up and the OC were due up in the same round and they needed their pitcher as well (everybody else already had their pitchers). I think things would be different perhaps if the OC had Viola and the Cunts had Alxndr. I think the other pitcher left out there was N.Ryan, and he was the last pick of the draft---he does have the highest career ERA.

Galactic Empire edge OC Legions of Doom in a shootout


San Luis Obispo - In front of a record crowd at Sinsheimer Field in sunny California, the Empire and America's team engaged in a high scoring game in which the Empire narrowly won 23-22.

The OC displayed their power and quick strike potential by hitting 11 HR's, 6 of them solo shots. McGwir went yard 3 times while G.Davis, Brooken, and Dwning each hit a pair of HR's. The OC totaled 33 hits.

The Empire bleeded the OC by hitting an array of doubles (15 total) and registered 30 hits. Shrdn and Mtngly each hit 3. The Empire hit 5 HR's and could not match the OC in power, but one of their HR's, an inside-the-park 2-run HR by Sutclf turned out to be the difference in the game. Sutclf also hit a triple and ended up crossing home plate 2 times as well. B.Buckner came off the bench in the ninth and delivered a crucial pinch hit HR to give the Empire a 23-20 lead going into the bottom of the ninth. The Empire needed every single hit and run to hold off the mighty OC offense.

With closer Robnsn in to hold the lead for the Empire in the 9th, he quickly got two quick outs. However, McGwir and Dwning blasted back-to-back shots and just like that the score was 23-22 with homerun threat G.Davis at the plate. G.Davis hit a towing fly ball towards center field accompanied by a huge gasp by the record selling crowd, but the ball and hopes for the OC ended up short as J.Leonard made the catch for the final out of the game at the warning track.

The road victory for the Empire is their first away from home, and they now enjoy a 2-game lead in first place in the Dove RBI division.

Tickets for the game were sold out within minutes after the schedule was released. The proud fans of the OC Legions of Doom considered this an exciting matchup of two powerhouse programs. BeefMaster and TBG, who have a combined 4 FRBI WS appearances and 2 WS titles, are considered to be America's team with their broad fan base and having their home games split in 3 different locations. The Empire is the defending champions and have appeared in the last two WS. So this anticipated matchup sold itself.

Sally Cunts prevail in lowest scoring and fastest game in FRBI history


Minneapolis (AP) -  A classic pitchers duel it was at Fidel Reagan Freedom Gulag Stadium on another cold and blistery day in Minneapolis.

SP's Sbhrgn and Viola combined to only give up 6 runs off 7 hits in 7 innings of masterful work while RP's D.Smith and King each pitched scoreless innings to hold off the Pabst Blue Ribbons 8-6.

The Pabst Blue Ribbons pitching staff also had a masterful performance. SP's Sutton and Blyvn combined to allow a paultry 5 earned runs off 14 hits in 7 innings, and Kerfld only allowed 2 runs in his relief appearance. Unfortunately, the solid effort by the Blue Ribbons pitching staff was not good enough on a day when they only managed 6 runs on offense. A record low for a nine inning game.

The Gantry League game is the lowest scoring game in a 9 inning game and was also the fastest played for a 9 inning game.

With the score tied at 6 in the bottom of the 8th inning, the Sally Cunts got just enough offense to propel them to victory. Kruk led off the inning with a double, pinch hitter Hatchr grounded out and moved over Kruk to 3rd base, and pinch hitter Pettis smacked a RBI double to give the Cunts the lead for good. Raines then flied out and Pndltn followed with a RBI triple. Murphy grounded out and the Cunts were up 8-6 going into the top of the 9th. King then took care of the rest and picked up the save as he tossed a scoreless inning and worked out of a jam with D.Baylor at second base.

The Cunts now move into a second place tie with the OC Legions of Doom while the Blue Ribbons drop a game behind and into 4th place in the Gantry Division. The Cunts also win the season series 2-1 over the Blue Ribbons, an edge that may play a pivotal role at the end of the year.

D.Hndrsn hits dramatic walkoff grandslam in extra innings to give Banana Hammocks narrow victory


Milwaukee (AP) - The Banana Hammocks overcame a 15-8 7th inning deficit and clawed their way back to send the game to extra innings. Down 17-15 in the bottom of the 11th,  Schmidt, Dawson, and K.Herndz hit consecutive singles to open up the inning. With the crowd roaring on their feet, D.Hndrsn stepped up to the plate and drilled a gargantuan shot over the scoreboard for a grandslam walkoff HR .

The difference in the game was the Hammock's bullpen. Stanly and Dayley combined to give up only 2 runs (1 earned) while Orosco and Shrld combined to give up 8 runs.

After scoring 13 runs in the first five innings, the Alliance only managed to score 4 more runs for the remainder of the 11 inning game. Simply put, they failed to put away the Hammocks.

The loss by the Alliance and the win by the Hammocks, combined with the Poopydicks loss now creates a log jam for second place. All three teams are tied for second place in the Dove RBI division.

Awesome Badasses use 7th inning explosion in a come from behind win


Oklahoma City (AP) - The Fighting Artichokes were in cruise control all game and life was good going into the bottom of the 7th inning with a 14-6 lead. Then came a relentless storm.

The Awesome Badasses sent 13 batters to the plate in the 7th and scored 10 runs off 10 hits off N.Ryan. C.Ripken, capped the explosion with a grandslam and the Badasses held on to a 17-15 non league victory.

In the 8th, JoFranco did his job in relief as he only surrended one run, and D.Moore came out of the grave in the 9th to pick up the save as he retired the side in order.

C.Ripken (4-5, GS HR, 3B, 3 R) knocked in 5 runners as well as R. 'the destroyer of dreams' Gedman and Speir also contributed with a 4-5 performance.

The Awesome Badasses have now won 2 straight and are 3-0 in non-league games but 0-6 in their Gantry divisional games.

Pedro Guerro's monster night carries the Ulrachers


Phoenix (AP) - P.Guerro launched his 3rd homer for the evening in the top of the 9th inning to give the first place Fighting Ulrachers a 16-14 lead. S.Grelts came in to slam the door on the Poopydicks (ouch) as he retired the side in order and earned the win and save.

The story of the night was the gargantuan effort by P.Guerro. Guerro went 5-6 at the plate, lasered a double, hit 3 HR's, crossed plate 4 times, and collected 8 RBI's. It was truly a piggyback effort to be appreciated.

Another key difference was the Ulracher bullpen in the 8th and 9th innings. Corbet and Grelts gave up no runs and no hits in relief.

The Fighting Ulrachers are now in command of first place in the Gantry league by two games over the Cunts and OC and boast the best record in the FRBI league. The loss to the Poopydicks moves them into a 3-way tie for second place in the Dove RBI division.
