Yes, this is true.

Hash Browns are grated potatoes that are grilled.
What they serve at Bob Evans looks like deep fried french fries that are cut into cubes.
I got into an argument with a waitress after ordering a triple order of hash browns and nothing else.  She showed up with a plate of "home fries", which she told me was the same thing as hashbrowns.

We left.
Stupid Bob Evans.  So stupid.
