1. K. Puckett
2. Dwight Evans
3. K. Bass
4. W. Boggs (i pinch hit for him in late innings)
5. T. Worrell (shit stamina)

5 underrated
1. B. Stanley (great movement)
2. K. Hernandez (big power)
3. K. Dayley (can give you 3 innings)
4. M. Witt (filthy)
5. D. Decinces (as good as any 2 hitter in game including Gaetti)

PLEASE KEEP IN MIND... all my comments are about Nintendo RBI- I have never played the arcade version.

I like Wade Boggs, he usually hits good for me, and i get a lot of homeruns from him.

Most overrated:

1. Kirby Puckett - No contest
2. Tony Gwynn - Best BA, one of the worst All-Stars
3. Shane Corbett - 1.10 ERA?
4. Paul Molitor - A speed & contact but not worth putting in
5. Steve Lake - Worst player in RBI, automatically overrated

1.  jeffrey leonard-  the guy does nothing
2.  kirby puckett-  not up to the challenge.
3.  tgwynn-  rbi programmers are not padre fans
4.  corbett-  that era is a joke.
5.  bob brenley-  he is not good!

1) kirby puckett
2)  larry herndon--couldnt hit .300 off a tee
3) frank viola--gives up too many dingers
4) boggs--not enough hits out of this schmuck
5) mookie wilson-- worst 2 hitter in the game
A couple of jesters? In the court of the king! IS THAT WHAT YOU'RE TELLING ME?!?!?!?

Jeff Leonard overrated, what the hell are you talking about???? he is so money.

Top 5 overrated

1.  Boggs
2.  Gwynn (he should be a much better hitter at .370)
3.  Nolan Ryan-  he gives up the long ball in a big way
4.  Wally Backman (no way he hits .320
5.  Benito Santiago-  how can he hit 3rd in this lineup??

all i can say about leonard is "one man's refuse is another's treasure".

I personally don't mind Leonard that much, he's decent.  Of the 2-3-4 righties on San Fran, I'll take the Candy Man...

to me, mitchell is the best of frisco's three righties...  maldonado would be second and leonard is lucky if he stays in the game... usually spillman hits in the three hole.

Spilman could do some damage at #3, not a bad idea Joe.  Who do you leadoff with then?  You don't keep that sac Uribe in do you?

Gwynn3k

#10
hell no... uribe is garbage.   i usually go with aldrete in the lead off spot... he doesnt have much power but he does have good gap power.  spier splits his time between the 6 spot and the 8 spot.  youngblood is saved for a late inning pinch hitter role.

I used to use Spier and aldrete before spilman.  Then i would put Spier in for brenly but lately aldrete has beaten spier out for the spot.

you must be kidding that jeff leonard "does nothing."  to me, he is in the top 5 most dangerous non-all star non-Bosox hitters in ribs play.

great call by the guy who mentioned Schofield.  because his numbers are relatively weak, more novice ribs players will pitch to him.  big mistake.

also, i challenge you to name a righty infielder with more power than tommy brookens.

Gantry

I too agree with Schofield - he's the man....

<<< also, i challenge you to name a righty infielder with more power than tommy brookens.  >>>

I'll name two - Doug Decinces & Jack Clark

This might sound ridiculous... I think Tommy Brookens has more power than Decinces and as much as Clark.  He regularly hits the ball out of the screen.

Schofield is a fucking man-child.  I agree.

Dill

Jack Clark has no power.  Brookens has much more power than him, plus he is right up there with Dougie.  Actually, Brookens hits a curveball much farther than Decinces.

Hey there Dill, long time no see!

Different styles yield different studs, I guess...  Even in our curve games, Jack Clark has a shitload of power.   A bit too double-play prone (like DeCinces), but I'll take him over the Bookends.  Lips and Sperling probably disagree with me though...

i think jack clark is shitty but you have to respect his power cause mcgee and pendleton are so weak.. and even if they get on, what the hell is ford going to do?

I dont worry about what ford is going to do because i already know.  He's gonna ground out or pop out, thats way i  counter that with lindeman.

Lindeman is definitely the man at the 7 spot, though I will keep Ford (and his 0 power rating) in if there's a runner on in straight pitch.  Then I'll put in Des Plaines for that sack of crap Pena.  Ford does a good job with the lefty hit, but sucks otherwise...
