A buddy and I started a RBI season a few weeks back.  We each drafted 2 teams, and the remaining 6 will be rovers and will be controlled by both of us.  Randomly split them into 5 teams divisions.
Follow along here and at the site... http://www.tecmobowl-vs-rbi.com/rbi-league.html

East                                  West
Boston                              N.L.
Minnesota                         San Francisco
Detroit                              California
St Louis                             A.L.
Houston                            New York

Schedule:  12 game season.  Each team plays their division opponents twice, and then randomly plays 2 teams from the opposite division.  Each team has 1 bye, and the inter-divisionsal games are in the 3rd and 5th set(In the black boxes w/ white lettering)
Top 3 make the playoffs from each division.

Current standings after 2 sets have been played.

Looking like a lock for Boston, Detroit, and Minnesota obtaining playoff slots in the East....just coming down to who can get the #1 seed and 1st round bye.

The West is up for grabs with everyone virtually tied up right now.  It may come down to who gets the easier inter-division schedule.  San Francisco avoids Boston, and Detroit from the East, which may help them get into the playoffs.

Yeah, hopefully 1 SP.  I believe this is the best way to play. Makes a world of difference...

TbT

1 starting pitcher as always
Got in some more games after work today.  Its the 1st inter-division set, so every team is playing this week.

MIN & NY split 2 games.  MIN won the opener 4-1, and Hernandez hit a walkoff in the 9th to give the Mets a 1-0 game 2 win.  Mets and twins are now at the halfway point of their schedules

Then A.L. took the opener against Boston 4-3, and Boston held on 5-4 in the 2nd game.  A.L. scored 4 in the 6th to tie things up, and Boston got 1 in the 7th.

East
MIN  4-2
Bos  3-1
DET  2-0
STL   1-3
HOU  0-4
Twins schedule gets tough to finish out BOS/SF/DET

WEST
NY   3-3
NL   2-2
CAL  2-2
AL    2-2
SF   1-1
Mets finish with SF/BOS/NL  doesn't look like a lot of wins left on the table, but parity is strong here.

I wish I had someone near me to play RBI/Tecmo with like this.  Everyone I know is all growns up.

Attezz

You could always get the RBI Baseball board game to play with your wife...

Turd

Heh heh...if she asks for a board game to play, and approves a baseball-centric one, who am I to deny that?  Cool wife, she is.  Anyways, back to me sulking cause I have no cool friends in the area anymore.

Move to Chicago, we'll scam chicks and start fights

Got 4 games in today
HOU @ N.L.
Astros forge a comeback that falls just short losing to the N.L. 5-4 in game 1.  Kevin Bass gets thrown out in the 9th trying to steal 2nd, and Garner then homers on the next pitch...which would have tied the game.

Stros win their 1st game of the season and knock off N.L. 4-3 in the 2nd game. The key play was Billy Hatcher beating out a double play attempt which allowed the tying run to score in the 7th.

DET @ CAL
Decinces' walk off homer in the 10 takes the win 5-4.  Reggie homered in the 2nd and 4th inning.
In game 2, Madlock, Sheridan, and Heath all homer and Detroit wins 5-2.  Cal did get the tying run to the plate in the 9th to make it interesting.

Standings
EAST

MIN  4-2
BOS  3-1
DET  3-1
STL  1-3
HOU 1-5

WEST
N.L.  3-3
CAL  3-3
NY    3-3
A.L.  2-2
SF    1-1

STL plays SF to finish out the 3rd set of games.

Stop making Turd cry, tbt.

Yeah, you're just pouring salt on the wound. :'(

Bad strategy stealing with Bass imo - not fast enough against a human catcher

It was late in the game and he had Righetti(?) pitching who was pretty gassed by then.  I thought it was a decent gamble.

I seem to remember nightwulf having some forumla that had to do with successful base stealing against tired pitchers.  At a certain pitch speeds, a player with a speed rating of "X" should be able to steal 2nd.

Yeah, you're just pouring salt on the wound. :'(

The guy I play against lives only 3 blocks from my house.  RBI is so convenient these days!   Its the hour drive to Nate's for Tecmo that sucks.

More games today!!!!  HI TURD!!!!

STL @ SF

Giants beat Tudor and the Redbirds 1-0.  Game 2 sees San Fran win 2-1.  A Vince Coleman triple led to the cards only run.

A.L. @ CAL
Game1.  Jackson 3 run homer in the 1st puts CAL on top.  Paul molitor's 3 run jack in the 4th gives AL the lead.  George Brett hits his 2nd homer in the 9th and AL rolls 7-4.
Game 2.  McGwire, mattingly, and Bell all homer in succession in then 3rd, and AL clobbers CAL 13-3(9 inns)  AL cranks out 8 homers in the game and 13 in the 2 games.  26 hits in 2 games.
George Bell hits 4 in 2 games, and George Brett with 3.

Current standings

Remaining schedules

Playoff races
EAST
MIN's seed will depend largely on their games against BOS/DET coming up
BOS appears to have an easier road than DET.  Should be a great race late.

WEST
SF looks to me to have the best shot right now to get the #1 seed...with a  pretty favorable schedule, and having already taken care of business.
AL is going to need to split with NL/SF at minimum
N.L.'s needs division wins now, and at least a split with DET.
NY has brutal match-ups down the stretch
CAL needs to probably win 3 of 4 to get in the playoffs.

Predictions
BOS 9-3
DET 8-4
MIN 6-6
DET having NL left from inter-dvision play may be their undoing.

NL 8-4
SF 8-4
AL 7-5
NL looks like they could end up with a better division record and through tiebreakers take the #1 seed.

Game 2:  Kent Hrbek hits 3 home runs including a 2 run shot in the 9th, and the Twins pull out the win 5-3.  Hrbek also had a solo HR in game 1.

DET @ HOU
Game 1: The Astros take a 3-2 lead into the 8th, but home runs by Trammel and Madlock help the Tigers pull away 5-3.
Game 2: Tigers lead 1-0 w/ 2 outs in the bottom of the 9th, but Kevin Bass' solo shot keeps them alive.  Game remains tied at 1 going into the 12th.  Tigers get home runs by Trammel, Evans, and Lemon to pull ahead 5-1.  Lopes adds a 2 run shot in the bottom of the 12th, but the Tigers win 5-3.
