I'm not sure if/how many times this has been discussed... but with all this "code" talk (which i have NO CLUE about), I was wondering if you can watch a game between the computer and see what happens to a particular sequence, if anything, when they throw their arms up and call a fly ball.. a weird part about this is they must not HAVE to be where the ball is gonna land, b/c sometimes they call for the fly when its hit right away, and then have to move a little and call it again..

I've always wondered about the "calling" of a ball.  As a kid I would try different button combinations at different times but could neve actually get it to work.
The best is when the computer throws its hands up about ten times before finally settling into position.

I just wiped my ass then smelled the toilet paper.  What's wrong with me?

the dude either has some high float or a mess between the cheeks.

haha that is exactly what i am referring to... and yet i cant seem to call a ball once, no matter how many freakin times/combinations ive tried.. my friend and I have a long, escalating wager on who will call the first fly ball... its been 10 years of playing each other at least once a week (some times up to 30-40 times a week) so right now the stakes are pretty high... id love to figure this one out

Isn't this a "computer only" kind of thing?  Trying to throw your arms up is like trying to run to the wrong dugout...it just ain't gonna happen.

I now wipe my ass after every time I take a piss

you're probably right... but i mean after being enabled to do things like play against the same team, I am in no position to say what is "possible"...

Without looking at the code at all, it wouldn't surprise me if this could be made to happen for human-controlled teams.

That said, I'm not sure that I'd want to. Newbies might start relying on that to catch flies. :)

Baseball Simulator 1.000 does this for human players as well; however, you can also catch the ball without the guy's hands going up (I often do).

The only time a person can do it is when you play it on watch and let the computer put his arms up and you take over from there.
Loads of fun.
