Figure we should take it out of the RBI 14 thread.  Here's the general idea:

    • Actual cart, though obviously we can make a ROM too
    • Some form of all-time teams
    • Include all the advantageous non-NES hacks (30 teams, two player pause, select the same team, etc)
    • Mostly using Turds formulas for player abilities coupled with some adjustment for eras
    • Should we include best teams of a single season?  Or best players for each team?
    • Include the original NES teams to be a full replacement cart for the original?

Not a bunch of time to go into detail but there's the layout.

Assuming the cart cost about $30, which I think is what I paid for the Arcade RBI cart, let me know who is interested and what types of teams you would want to see on it.

Turd

We  can get a bulk discount if we get enough donor carts...I believe $20 if you order enough of them. Otherwise it's $25.

When everything is finalized, I'll generate a base ROM

Ever since the 30 team ROM was an option, I've been contemplating a cart with the NES, Arcade, then another 10 teams from a ROM I made a while back.

That's not a bad idea either, though a bunch of us have the arcade cart.  Well, mine is somewhere in Milwaukee - think maybe repeat or bastardo has it.

Would be cool to be able to use Arcade teams against NES teams

All-Time teams is an awesome idea. How would you go about deciding rosters? I know a lot of franchises have had fan votes declaring all-time teams. There are also some websites that put them out.

How many donor carts do you think you'll need if you do a bulk run? This site http://www.nesreproductions.com/ has a good list of qualifying donor carts. Gantry, I noticed the rbibaseball.us on the RBI 2013 cover. Is this the site you guys use to produce the game?

RBIBaseball.us is my website dedicated to online leagues and promotion and downloads for my yearly ROM releases...it's basically the official site for all things 30-team RBI ROM...

RBI Empire

Gotcha. Sorry, I thought it was Gantry's site. I'm still new to the neighborhood!

No problem man! It's great to have the action around here.  For a long time, I was making updated ROMs and we'd only get action on occasion...people have been slowly creeping in as they googled "RBI 20xx" or whatever and stumbled here, and then RBI14 really got the discussions going.  It's a good time in RBI land...

RBI Empire

You're right! I qualify as one of those. I got here from the link at the bottom of the RBI wiki page. I thought...dee-nee.com.....what the hell does that have to do with RBI Baseball?!?

I was wrong. It's the sound for a pinch hitter. I have more studying to do. So many glossary terms.

I'm definitely interested in a cart. My vote is for all-time players per team rather than best single season teams. It will be intersting to see how many teams get Nolan Ryan and Jack Morris though. Also I would love to see a Montreal Expos legacy team.

:)I'm definitely in for this !!!! I like the RBI14 but definetly prefer the fat nes guys
Life is uncertain .....Don't Sip!!!!

I've used nesreproductions.com and the service is great but since he's (Leon)  in Canada it takes a bit longer plus you have to mail him donor carts. I've used thenesdump.com too. Prices are about the same but the turnaround is very fast, located in USA (so faster shipping) and no donor carts. He (Joe) doesn't list his for sale but if you email him everything on the site is for sale plus he does orig. carts if wanted.

Just another option.
