I have to sit at my daughter's Ortho appt for 2 hours, so I brought RBI on a handheld NES player.  Playing a 'season' with Detroit to pass the time.  Subbing PS for Herndon in each game although I am famously pro-Madlock and anti-Sheridan.  I will post after each at-bat.  So far:

1-1 with a double and run scored

edfan

1-2 after lining out to end the inning with a man on first.  Typical

edfan

1-3 after a fly out to left field

edfan

1-4 after a pop out to the pitcher.  If this keeps up, I am going to find the cardboard box that real life PS lives in and burn it down

edfan

Brief excitement as Sheridan makes solid contact in his final at bat.  I thought it might be a redemption shot, but it was caught well short of the wall in what will likely be his final at bat of the game since I am now up by 10.

Sheridan goes a lackluster 1-5 in a game where 7 homers were hit

edfan

In fairness, Madlock went 0-1 in a PH appearance for Doyle Alexander.  It carried to the wall in LF but was caught

BDawk

I have a feeling you sabotaged the Sheridan at bats to justify your hatred

edfan

Leads off the 2nd in game 2 with a weak dribbler to SS.  One of those Pettis-type infield singles, except Sheridan is only fast enough to almost make it

0-1 and I almost cursed out loud in the middle of the Ortho office.  1-6 overall

edfan

Hit a grounder just past the second baseman and it rolled all the way to the wall.  Sheridan legged out a triple

1-2 on the game; 2-7 on the day

I'm pretty sure you don't know how to use the great Pat Sheridan.  He's too powerful for you do possibly know what to do.

It's like asking an old lady to drive a Ferrari.  Too much power for her to handle and she'll crash it.

edfan

2B must have learned his lesson as Sheridan hits another grounder but it is easily fielded for out 2 in the 5th.  Looking in the dugout at Tengen Field, the Tigers in the dugout are starting to isolate Sheridan and they are looking to Sparky Anderson for answers.  For comparison, even Matt Nokes, who is a tremendous slouch, has homered twice today!

1-3 on the game.  2-8 on the day.  Sparky Anderson considering trading Sheridan for Pedriq :)

Gantry

I would like to see a double-blind, placebo study to prove that edfan isn't sabotaging the Sheridan ABs to prove his petty vendetta as justified.

Does anyone know the phone # to the Warren Commission?

edfan

Sheridan comes up with a bases loaded double.  First 2 RBI of the day for him.  2-4 in this game.  3-9 on the day

BDawk

Arlen Specter was my neighbor.  I'll give him a call and see if he can get the old gang together

edfan

Game 2 ended due to the big 6th inning.  All of you naysayers remind me of the alien conspiracy theorists on History Channel.  Placebo this, Gantry!!!

BDawk

Can you send me the game tape?  I need to have it reviewed.  I'll report my findings within two weeks.

edfan

Bases empty for another triple that squeaks past the 2B.  I am beginning to think that power is beyond PS.  Placement the is key to a successful PS at-bat

4-10 on the day.  1-1 in the game

edfan

Chet Lemon shows him how it's done and drives PS in on a 2 run homer

edfan

Sheridan with an RBI double and Lemon drives him in.  2-2 in the game.  5-11 with 3 RBI on the day.  Sheridan is finding his groove.  Unfortunately, it is not the groove that BDawk and Gantry wish for it to be.  You guys keep looking for Sasquatch and aliens...I'll keep my eye out for a PS home run

BDawk

Now he's finally trying with Sheridan to keep gantry and me quiet.  I'm on to you
