Will do! I'm having th same problems on the base paths. I'll work it out.

Two decades of RBI 1-3 were not helpful for baserunning skills when picking up RBI 14 - the CPU is no longer shy about throwing guys out (in the originals, if you tried for an extra base and then thought better of it, they wouldn't throw to the previous base, so you were fine as long as you didn't close enough for them to run you down).

Momentum, I think.  In the new games, guys take a second to turn around.

In the same way, I misjudged a lot of potential tag outs because the tag animation was so slow.

Some more observations from a few games today, where I started a season by losing to the Pirates because Aroldis Chapman my inability to track fly balls allowed 3 runs in the ninth.

- I am almost beginning to feel like the first batter of the game gets the same power boost as a pinch hitter or something. It's a small sample size, but in my first game on Saturday I hit a leadoff bomb with Billy Hamilton. Today I played two games with my girlfriend, who is hoping to learn the game and see what all the fuss is about. I hit leadoff homers with Denard Span and Michael Bourn in those two games. Also worth noting is that because they're fast players with little power, I was pressing up with Hamilton and Bourn trying to put the ball on the ground. That's three out of four games where the leadoff hitter hit a line drive home run into the first few rows of seats on the first pitch of the game.

- Pitcher home runs are a thing. When playing my girlfriend I was up big and going station to station, but decided to use the retreat for pitchers just for the hell of it. Hit a grand slam with Corey Kluber to straightaway center.

Baines may have hit a homer with Baines, yelled Baines and immediately changed into a Baines jersey.

You know who's the best? Baines...

This. And it's not just momentum on RBI 15. I've run into several situations where just tapping the buttons causes the player to stop and hesitate, but if you don't hold them down for almost a full second they will just revert back to what they were going to do anyway, if that makes sense. I ran myself into an inning ending double play last night on a double off the wall because when I tapped the button to send the two runners an extra base, they just took a couple steps, turned around, and went back to the base.

A couple other observations now that I'm about seven games into a season:

- Home runs with the first batter of the game are still a thing, and now Billy Hamilton leads the majors in home runs and RBIs.

- Pitcher home runs are still a thing. Hit a 3-run bomb to center with Cueto last night.

- It could be that I just don't have my timing down, but I'm not sure the retreat gives you that much more power. It definitely causes you to hit the ball in the air more often, but most of those are pop ups or it turns what would have been a single into a lazy fly ball. Starting to feel like the power comes more from just hitting it with the sweet spot on the bat. More than anything, my home runs have come when I'm pressing right or left to try to move to make solid contact on a curve.

- A couple nice touches from the original: If you hit a foul ball into the right spots in the stands down the right or left field lines, it will still look and make a sound like it hit something, rather than just disappear into the crowd. Also, last night I had a CPU player throw the ball into the stands after trying to make a throw from up against the stands down the right field line. The player turned white and was frozen while I just circled the bases and scored.

I actually think I'm not hitting the right buttons on the controller to return my runners...
