Now that the Giants and Angels are in the world series, it marks the 8th time that RBI teams have faced in the fall classic.  Here is the list of the other occurances.  Note that World Series MVP's were not handed out until 1955

Year Results MVP
1987 Minnesota 4, St. Louis 3 Frank Viola
1986 NY Mets 4, Boston 3 Ray Knight
1968 Detroit 4, St. Louis 3 Mickey Lolich

1946 St. Louis 4, Boston Red Sox 3 --
1934 St. Louis Cardinals 4, Detroit 3 --
1912 Boston Red Sox 4, NY Giants 3 (one tie) --

Holy Shit!!!  I didn't even notice that!!!  Great call.  Hopefully this series will go 7 as well.  If it does I think you might be on to something.  Go Giants by the way!!!  I was at the game last night and it was pretty awesome.    I was able to go on the field at the end of the game.......memorable to say the least.

looks like we could be on the verge of a STL/DET series

we've had a Bos/STL as well a few yearsa go, that didnt go 7.

doesn't matter, whether New York or St. Louis wins, we've got ourselves another RBI classic on the way.  Now may be a good time for me to post that I've been a diehard Detroit fan since I was 6 years old, and these past few weeks have been the best weeks in my life for following baseball.  Loving every minute of it.
2006 Detroit Tigers...best team ever?
