Reds

I get the feeling that every team in the league is going to end up just around .500.

GoReds - a man among men...

Darky

Only because I handicapped my team with the trades I did. I didn't have the stomach to watch the Empire dominate again and I wanted to make the league fun and competitive for everybody  ;D

New members Murphy and Evans were gold.  Jack Clark sucked.

Rock City is very happy to see Vince & Candy thriving in their new roles with the Chilis. the diplomats watched in the clubhouse & were hooting and hollering when Vince popped one

Congrats Nomaaa.  Dee-Nee's new Sandwich King.

Darky

Is it only me who waits all day in anticipation for the day's game? Fighton managed to sneak one by me and maybe the rest of dee nee last night when he posted the game after midnight dee nee time. Impressive though he was able to do that and found that twilight zone of posting a game with everyone logged off.

The Rock City and GDavis & Friends game has me really interested. Both teams need a win to get an edge for the playoffs, but a loss won't knock either of them out.

nomaaa

you are not, i'm loving this league.

the week off was tough on the boys, but they spent some quality time welcoming the new addition to the clubhouse. Strawberry fits in well with the boys, and his close ties to NY will help him feel more comfortable in his new role. He's struggled at the plate this season, so we're not expecting huge returns right out the gate. We just want to put him in a place we think he can succeed with the diplomats

That was a hell of a game to end the week, although I did not feel at all confident going into either the top or bottom of the ninth.

I am reasonably sure that it's not taken into account by the random number gods, but I think all the errors that game were with two outs, one of which directly led to two runs for nomaaa.

So no one is doubting Canseco now.  7 for 7 5 runs 5 rbi.

Beefy - I'm not happy with the performances of Witt/Franco.  Let's take a look at the waiver wire.

Shooty

Henke did some work at the end there.

Yeah, looks like hJose is finally settling into his role.  Can't complain about that kind of production.  Also, Ruppert FINALLY got himself going, so I'm feeling much better about the lineup as a whole, other than maybe Brenly.

I'm with you on the pitching.  I was hugely impressed by Ryan and Henke, but the other two were disasters (interesting, because Nolan has historically been fairly crappy in Fantasy RBI).

Beef - I am going to swap out GDavis with Keith Hernandez.  Hernandez has been on fire and I like the idea of GDavis coming off the bench with the pinch hitter's power boost.

I'd also like to swap Brenly and Grich in the batting order.  Grich has been better and sometimes the #8 hitter gets pinch hit for - so I'd prefer that be Brenly.

Please cosign.

Also - could manfreddy or someone post the available pitchers on the free agent list?  I'd like to peruse.

Yes, as Darky posted, if anyone ever wants to know available FAs, it's the roster of the American and National teams in that week's ROM (the rosters are a text file in that week's ZIP file of relevant information.

there are also folks complaining about the lack of Bobby Grich, Dwight Evans, and Willie Randolph.

GDavis

Thanks - I checked the stats and our pitching has been straight ass.

Drop Witt for Doyle Alexandar
Drop Franco for Corbet

Beefmaster - cosign these transactions

I'm VERY leery about the 1B switch (Hernandez's numbers so far this year are boosted a lot by the PH bonus), but I'm willing to give it a shot for a game, at least.

I was going to make the same proposal regarding Brenly and Grich.  IN THEORY they are almost exactly equals with the bat (Brenly has 2 more speed points), but Brenly's really been struggling.  Maybe this will give him a wake-up call.

I had the same thought about Hernandez - but it's worth trying out.  Consider it a platoon situation.

I know a couple people had volunteered, but is anyone willing to handle the weekly stats? I have an Excel spreadsheet that automates a lot of it - basically, you'll just need the game box scores that I post after every game.

Do we have to wait for someone to clear waivers?  I want to drop Jeff Reardon and take John Franco
