I don't get why trades are even necessary.  This isn't real fantasy sports where players unexpectedly become much better or worse; nor are there injuries.  We know exactly what everyone is capable of.  Why are trades needed?

Waivers is really only necessary in situations like Reds draft, where he made a lot of gaffes and is trying to fix them.

Trades are fun, until one player makes a load of really bad trades to the same team, throwing off the competitive balance. Trades get vetoed in "real" fantasy leagues all the time for the same reason.

there are also folks complaining about the lack of Bobby Grich, Dwight Evans, and Willie Randolph.

Right now, any trade that would have impacted the rosters after the Week 3 ROM is void. All trades before that stand. I am taking a current appeal for one of the trades under advisement.

Sometimes it's worth it to take a gamble on a young whippersnapper like Burks. It's also the case that old fogeys like Reggie Jackson can hit the downturn of their career at any moment. Managing a team will is part art, part science.

I appreciate the theatrics that some of you guys make about all of this, but that's all it is...Jackson is just as likely to hit a homer the last game of the season as he was the first game.  I know you know this, but the trading obviously can lead to problems with this noble pursuit we are involved in.

Yeah, that's my appeal - DCincs back to the Empire, Brett back to the Pinkmen, and Garner back to AOS. Burks remains with the Pinkmen. Of if the appeal is Brett back to the Empire, cool beans.

DiCinces has already played a game for my team. And since it was a double-trade anyway, it doesn't make a lot of sense to send just two of those players to their original teams.

Shooty

I don't think Darky is allowed to have an opinion on any of this.

Makes a lot of sense actually. There are no rules in place, so DCincs having registered two games with you doesn't automatically make him immune to a reversal because of your reasoning in which you assume is a universal rule. You got 2 wins with him, so take that and keep Burks. It seems like you are very scared of getting Brett back to makeup for a so-so draft of yours  ;D

DCincs is 26 contact and 885 power
Brett is 12 contact and 834 power

And Knight is 14 contact and 798 power
Garner is 24 contact and 804 power

The trade should have never been approved due to the heavy tilt your way. Burks for Leonard is a healthy tradeoff.

Shooty's team will be fine and he has already stated he doesn't care about the trade but he does wonder about Fighton's reasoning. I don't think Fighton can make everybody happy here, so it is what it is. When he decides what ever appeal he is reviewing, it'll be that and may we all move on and play ball!

fighton already made a decision. If you are offering to trade Brett for DiCinces (is Brett even still on your team?), I decline. Thanks.

I know that and he made it clear - I was just confronting your reasoning with games played. Whatever though, I'm fine with my team as it is now. I am more wondering about this appeal Fighton speaks of.

And Strassy, just like Nacho said - art and science.

Also, the observer effect affects the players and games! So with a worried Nomaaa and everybody noticing R.Jcksn's struggles at the plate, the game manifests that reality! With other neutral observers who don't know us, maybe Jcksn rakes every game. So our imaginations influences outcomes!  ;)

Trades make better sense with a 10-man league imo. The two seasons I was Commissioner, zero trades happened. Then again, there was only a 2-week window for trades in the middle of the season.

All I know is that Darky was an idiot and fighton just massively rewarded him for it.

That was a defining moment for Commissioner Fightonusc and he'll be on the right side of Fantasy history in what is the most controversial firestorm ever!

Commissioner Fightonusc did everything in his power to allow for the fairest outcome. He was placed in an extremely tough situation because of my idiocy. Ultimately, he did what was best for the Fantasy League.

As mentioned before, the trade would have resulted in a super team for Shooty and the suspense for the season would have been non-existent. The ball did come into my court, and faced with a chance to make a sane decision for the benefit of the league and The Empire, Lord Vader upheld the voided trade.

Call me an idiot and all that and get it out of your system since I'm the bad guy here and deserve all that, then let's move on and play some damn ball. And we'll all look forward to the Fantasy RBI Podcast - billions are expected to tune in  :D

May the Force bless The Empire.

I think nomaaa should do a weekly recap entirely in this style.
