When are the next games?  Hasn't been on in a while.  Fighton isn't statis-proi-ng this again, is he?

fightonusc

The games are weekly - chill out. Getting the stats pulled together today and the ROM, so I can hopefully start running games tonight.

Schedule:

Tulsa Pinkmen @ EZ Listeners
Rock City Diplomats @ The Seymour Chili's
GDavis & Friends @ The Empire
Canadian Shooties @ Assful of Shit

GDavis and Friends. Donnie Baseball awaits. We are putting in 20,000 more seats for this game at the Imperial Center Stadium because of Canseco's popularity in this end of the galaxy! Thousands of Canseco twitching bobbleheads have been sold for this game.

Request for Fighton

During the games I like looking at the stats of the players, but almost all the pitchers just have a 9.99 ERA.  Can you maybe convert the ERA number to runs allowed per inning.

So a guy with a 13.50 ERA...instead of showing 9.99, show 1.50.

Know what I'm saying?

Darky

Is everybody cool with errors set to 8?

I think 6, which would be half on the error scale, would be much better. The errors are having too much of an impact on games imo. But if everybody is cool with the errors set to 8, then cool beans.

I'm fine with 8.  Doesn't seem t be that many BOPs.

Nacho

I'd prefer fewer errors but it's not a big deal.

What about making the mercy rule 13 instead of 10? Thoughts?

Congrats Nomaaa.  Dee-Nee's new Sandwich King.

Yeah those kind of things have to be agreed on before the season begins.

Quick peak into this week's games.

The Seymour Chili's (2-2) @ EZ Listeners (2-2)
The Empire (2-2) @ Tulsa Pinkmen (3-1)
Assful Full Shit (2-2) @ DC Diplomats (1-3)
Canadian Shooties (3-1) @ GDavis & Friends (1-3)

It's back to the SP#1 in the rotations. It's still early in the season, but no longer is it in the infancy stage. DC and GDavis need wins bad this week to stay in the hunt and not have to be in a position for absolute must wins sooner or later. The Shooties and Pinkmen are off to great starts and another win this week for them will give them an early edge for a playoff spot. Hey though, this league is Any Given Sunday, so nothing is a lock and any team can turn things around as well as fall into an abyss right away.

This will be the first time The Empire will be on the road for the season. We are looking forward to our Tulsa trip and taking on the Pinkmen. If Morris is on and we get an early lead, we like our chances. We just need to survive the first two innings because the Pinkmen can hit. Also, if Cox is on, then I don't like our chances unless it's anyone's ballgame after the 6th inning.

Fernando can shut teams down from time to time, so he'll have his hands full with the EZ Listeners. When Dawson shows up big, it's hard to beat any team he's on. The key will be OSmith. If he has a productive day, then that's when EZ smacks the ball around. The Chili's are right back in this thing with the acquisition of Thon, they are a much better team. Also, at some point, Murphy, DWEvans, and Straw will decide to hit. The Chili's are do for a breakout game. Very interesting and pivotal game here.

Let's see if Reggie wakes up this game and if Viola can come out and throw another masterpiece. The Diplomats are like the Kardiac Kids, but in reverse. Either they win a close one finally, or win big, or just come out demoralized and get whacked by ASF. As we've seen, ASF can score in furious bunches because they have the offense to do that. Krukow is solid, but so is the Diplomat lineup. The Diplomats have been having a habit of falling behind early and trying to catchup all game. The Diplomats are 1-3 and another loss might demoralize Nomaaa and his men! So the pressure is on them!

I have a hunch GDavis will breakout this game with the HR's. That Canseco leadoff jinx is tough to crack, but at some point, the meat of Davis' lineup has to start hitting as they should. They'll need to do that against Gooden and a solid Shooties lineup. Maybe the Shooties are due for an off game with the hitting after two straight brief mercy rule games. Pressure is on both teams since GDavis and Beef are desperate for a win and team owner Shooty maybe doesn't want to lose to a 1-3 team from America!

OK, I have everyone's changes. Working on the ROM right now - will post with stats, standings, etc. and then get the games going.

Also, the ROM will have the ER/IP as Shooty suggested, which I think will help to show the average pitchers from the turds.

That was a great idea by Shooty and even better that you actualized Shooty's idea.

I wanted to run this idea by everybody and of course the Commissioner. For the playoffs, I'm strongly in favor of a 15-run mercy rule. Due to the inflated teams and the league not at full capacity for players, I believe the playoff teams should be given a better chance to stage a comeback with a 15-run mercy rule. The playoff teams will all be able to hit due to an inflated league. Additionally, having a 15-run mercy rule will avoid quick knock outs in the first two innings. A 11-run or 13-run deficit, for instance, can be quickly reduced with the good hitting teams the league has and thus allow for a fairer game.

I think you should need to have 4 strikes to get a strikeout.  But only for the playoffs.
