Does your tournament use the one starting pitcher per game rule, unless there is extra innings?

Had 20 players enter Tecmo Bowl tournament, and 16 enter RBI.  Those are my highest totals ever.  RBI final 4 had players from Colorado, Nebraska, Iowa, and Illinois.  Boom!  Also had a guy from Kansas that nearly reached final 4.

RBI had a repeat champion.  This guy has never even lost a single game and has 4 sweeps in semi-final/championship round in 2 years.  Beales got 4th place. I got 5th place in RBI.  My friend Curt, who I have played more RBI against than anyone else, got a 3rd place finish.

As for Tecmo, I won a 6th straight Tecmo Bowl tourney.  Nate Nate Nate got bounced out in semi-final of Tecmo for 2nd consecutive year in Omaha tourney.

There are many pics and videos I will post later.  Registration list shows we had 26 total people play in the 2 games.

He is!  I lost to him in the finals and it wasn't even close.  He does everything well and makes few mistakes.  Having not played another human in 4 or 5 years did not help me!

Brad ran a great tournament!  It would be cool to see this event grow even bigger next year!

Would absolutely love to attend, will do my darndest for next year.  March is tough because of the wrestling trip though....

When I attended the RBI tourneys in Chicago/Columbus there were always a few guys there that were clearly on a different level than the rest.  Joe Dirt and Mark Bridges come to mind as guys I have played.   Dirt has named a couple other guys that were at that level.  Beales mentioned trying to put together a tourney this summer.

Threw this video together.  Meant to get better video, but I really should have had someone on tap to just come in and record, record, record.  Instead I just had the scorekeeper get a few walk arounds.  A guy at the tourney is in video production and suggested I stage a set up with TVs/Systems and we do a professional shoot.  Get the lighting right, proper angles, all that.  I'm interested in doing that to promote future events.

Nate Nate Nate and I have only met once in 4 tourneys that we've attended together (Houston title game).  He hasn't fared well against really legit but less experienced guys in Aaron (Des Moines IA 2016) & Mort (Omaha 2018), and those are black marks on his resume.  Had he taken care of business and we played in 3 championships, he probably wins 1 of em against me.  Nate is a tough match-up for me, but when he got upset by Mort 7-3, I got handed an easier opponent.  I rolled 20-7 vs Mort, and had it in the bag by late 3rd qtr, up by 3 scores.  Nate's knowledge is top notch, but he tends to stumble in big games against unorthodox opponents.  Before anyone dogs Nate, the guy is 22-1 in a tournament setting against people that we don't know, and/or haven't played before.   Dude rolls most people, and is one of the best players out there.

RBI champ(left) and 2nd place (Colorado guy, who used to play fantasy rbi if im not mistaken).

3rd and 4th in RBI.  My buddy Curt took 3rd.  Overall really solid player with a good eye at the plate.  Beales got 4th.  Curt beat him solidly in the 3rd place game like 6-1.  Ive played more RBI vs Curt than anyone else.  I was super proud that he did so well.

I was happy to get 5th.  I lost to Beales in the quarterfinal and then won 2 games in the 5th place bracket.

Nate dog in action.  Guy on the left is military, and they get $5 off our tourney fee.

Hyperkin HD in action.  720 resolution!

Richie on left getting it done!  This guy went 0-4 and got his balls stomped on by a score of like 150-10 last year.  With my tutelage, he went 2-1 in group play, only losing a 7-3 game to the overall 1 seed, and then won a tourney game.  Eventually lost to Nate and Ben(5th place), but made great strides in his ability.

Tecmo championship

Tecmo championship, with Nate playing 3rd place game in upper left.

Mort and I after game.  Score was either 20-7, or 20-0. I think he put on a TD late.  If he scored 7, that would have been the most I've given up in a championship game.     Been shutting fools out!

Fuck yeah, TBT.  Sorry I couldn't make it down for it - looks like a great time (and that's seriously some great photo work).

Amazing shit, I need to get down one year already.

Does playing on a LCD or the clone consoles affect your gameplay in any way?

nomaaa

tbt, do you get tired of winning?
or is it nerve wracking proving your dominance year in/year out?

A friend of my wife is dabbles in photography and has an expensive camera.  Thankfully she was able to get us some good shots.

No not really.  I own 4 AVS systems which basically give you a perfect 720 res image and perfect color, with no lag.  According to the tech heads, the AVS replicates original nes to crt tv game play response when it comes to playing on new TVs.  Those are however $200 a pop.

The hyperkin top loading systems ($40) aren't as good in terms of sharpness of resolution, color, and sound, but I honestly don't notice a lag issue while batting.  I've tested it with other RBI playing buddies, and nobody had an issue.  I'm a dead pull hitter and still pull like crazy on a hyperkin.

In Tecmo Bowl, the only issue you face with Hyperkin lag IMO is on kickoffs/FG attempts when trying to get full power kick.  I just adjust accordingly and haven't have an issue with it.
Hyperkins are not as popular in the Tecmo Super Bowl community, because they have some very precise timing routes to get a WR to jump on a intermediate route for example.  There's also an art to the dropping back and tossing hail marys, where you need to throw a exact moment to get the best chance for a jump ball.  The real legit TSB probbaly prefer

At my tourneys I recommend that when things get to the final 8, everyone uses the AVS systems.

No, I don't tire of winning.  I went through a phase a year ago, where it was more relief than joy to win a tourney, but now I'm in a different place.  More confident, but dealing with pressure filled stressful games late in the tourney is taxing.  I'm asserting my dominance now, so that's great and all.   However I know the caliber of player I'm facing with the other elite guys.  A fine line could relegate me to 5th or 4th place finishes a couple tourneys in a row.  Being the at the top is a spot I'm fighting hard to maintain.

I've lost head to head vs Nate and Derek over the course of a weekend...4 games to 3 for example.  Ultimately I won the important tournament games those weekends.  The losses were exhibitions on the couch the day before or after.  I really think that when its just "a game" my focus is not always 100%.  When shits on the line, mental clarity ramps up, and mistakes dwindle. Guess I'm a pressure junkie now.
