Recreated my church coed softball team after our game the other night plus an extended lunch hour yesterday.  Also started an elimination tournament with a default team (go Sirloins!) and have been slowly ramping up the Ego rating as I go.  The game has grown on me very quickly.  Also while I was waiting for it to download an update the other day I played a game of the original for the first time in a couple years; it's fine, but the sequel is more refined in every way.

Xbox here, so can't join up with Turd/nomaaa/bonny.

Shooty

Can I play this on my PS2 or Wii or ZX-81?

I'd actually double purchase it on PC to play vs. you guys, but that's your call if you want to do that.  The thing about the PC that appeals to me is that someone already wrote a team sharer to be able to send teams to people and import them.

Im about to leave work, eat some Taco Bell and make some teams.

I really hope they add a share feature/roster vault type thing

Gantry

Let's get a little more detail on that Taco Bell order...

Turd

Yeah, for instance, does your location have Chili Cheese Burritos? If it doesn't, you should join the fight to bring it back.  My C-14 levels are at an all-time low and I can't drive to Appleton every time I need a fix.

I'm not into it enough (or enough of an online gamer) for that to be worth it, so for now I will keep working on figuring out my ideal CPU Ego level and watching the results of you guys beating each other up.

GoReds - a man among men...

Are other folks using the button or the analog stick for power swings?  I'd been using the button (X on the Xbox controller), but I decided to try out the stick during my games yesterday, and it triggered a rain of dongs - I may have hit ten in one game.  I don't know if that was coincidence (launch angle was definitely way up, so maybe I'm adjusting the left stick differently, and my timing has of course improved as I've played), or if there's actually a bonus to using the stick instead of the button.

I use the stick because it's easier to check my swing if I decide at last minute not to swing.

P.S. I bought the PC version too.  Someone released a 30-team roster pack with logos and whatnot.  Had to purchase to save me the time it'd take to enter in all that shit...

I'm actually brewing a beer right now so I won't be ready for a few hours but I will hit you up if I see you online. I have been playing on 50 because that is the league I'm in uses.

BeefMaster

Just finished a season with my possibly-overpowered church softball team murdering the rest of the league on Ego 50 (I even threw my first perfect game in the series-clinching game), so I cranked the ego up to 80 and tried a five-inning game to see how attainable the "win a standard league on Ego 80" achievement would be.

HOLY SHIT the ball comes in fast.  I managed two hits and struck out seven times in those five innings, and one of those hits was a seeing-eye single to the left side.  I was happy with my pitching and fielding, as the CPU only managed one dinger and a couple scattered singles, but if I give that season a shot, I'm really gonna have to work on my reaction speed at the plate.

nomaaa

i bet you'll get the hang of it. still wanna get that game but i'm addicted to the show

mlb the show just dropped a new patch last friday & the hitting has become a LOT more difficult. however it's so much more enjoyable this way tbh. there are 8 divisions and typically flirt between leagues 2 & 3. made it to the top league the first year they had itbut not since. most of my games had a total of 10-18 runs scored on average, and now they're more like 4-6 rpg total. the flashback cards are the shit. i have 2012 andrew mccutchen & adam jones in my OF

I love how difficult you can set this game to be.

Gantry

Can you set it to know-it-all teenager mode?   Cause that would be really difficult, AMIRITE parents??!?!?!?
