If Beefy ends up in a doubleheader, does Youngblood get to play for his opponents team in game 2?

I think I agree with Beefy for the most part, with two exceptions.

1) I don't like to draft a pitcher with low stamina.  Some of these CPU vs CPU games become slugfests.  If a pitcher starts tiring in the third inning, it can get ugly.
2) I value guys that throw sinkers, specifically Mike Scott.  They seem to get more K's.  Less balls in play, less damage.

I'm generally on board with that, but here are my counterarguments:

1) There are only a few pitchers with extra stamina (and no starters with lower than average).  I'm very hesitant to sacrifice a lineup spot to reach for one of them.

2) I have wanted to believe that since we started doing these leagues, but I'm pretty sure Scott's actual results haven't been appreciably better than anyone else's.

If there are varying stamina ratings, by definition, some must be below average

What if you are calculating by average by mode, as opposed to median or mean?

Let's get real, nobody ever does that unless explicitly stated

Beefy has always struck me as a mode guy, in fact his high school band was called Mode 7 - named after the SNES graphics system.

I'm going against all of the logic of my previous drafts in prioritizing pitching and power at the expense of speed, contact, and a bench. We'll see how it plays out but I'm not optimistic.

Looking at the numbers in previous years, it does appear that some pitchers routinely fare better than others, though it also seems to me that every pitcher is susceptible to a random bad season. I think Shooty is right that sinkerballers generally tend to fare better whereas from what I can tell curve has little to do with CPU v CPU pitcher success. That said, sinker ability doesn't seem to be the only thing that matters, as some sinkerballers seem to routinely do better than others.

HOT TAKE:  Pilotwings was boring.  I mean, look at this immersive gameplay.  So much waiting:

Oh yeah, it sucked.  Just a way to show off the new graphics...

Your pedantry is accurate, although what I was attempting to refer to was the baseline/median - no starting pitcher has less than 40 stamina, and only six or seven have more than that.

The Krukow pick is interesting, because there are only 3 pitchers left.  Darky must think that there's some value of Krukow over Reuschel/Sutton.

I just don't want to get stuck with Big Daddy. He can give up huge innings and it can happen often. I can trust Sutton, but call it a hunch with Krukow. Besides, he covered Giants games for a while and I think he still does for the local station in the Bay Area.
