Before I blabber about yesterday's games and post the boxscores/recaps, I am happy to say that Week 7 will be a go tonight at 4pm Dee Nee time.

nomaaa, Guidry (now 1 or 2 in the league in ERA) came with it for the Empire's home opener! Your bottom half couldn't get the clutch hits with ducks on the pond, but this Guidry can pitch. Things went the Empire's way with some catches at the wall, my scrappers in the bottom half producing, and Hack fuckin Wilson showing up big! Also, there is a concept I learned in sports when playing baseball - "afraid to win". Don't be afraid to win amigo - doubt affects the players! You're the upstart this year and you just had an off day - your team has a great shot to win it as long as Vida gets back to shutdown pitching.

And a very eye opening statistic - George Foster is only hitting .300 with 2HR, 7 RBI and two 2Bs in 30 at-bats for Fighton's Cleveland Spiders. Foster's attributes: Contact 16 POWER 945! That's statistically astonishing given his above average power and good contact from the left side. I didn't scout him a couple of years ago when I scouted some players, so I have no data on him to expect any projections. On the other hand, Bobby Bonds and his 855 power and 18 contact has gone deep 11 times already in 34 at-bats - he hit 7 bombs in 52 at-bats in my simulated scouting games.

DwEvans and Jody Davis are hitting above their attributes - Jody is hitting over .600 ... thus far. DwEvans isn't doing anything special, but he is hitting just above his weight as my scouting reports suggests. Donnie Baseball is having a horrible year. I don't think he likes the 2-hole. But he's barely hitting .400. Hank Aarron is underperforming as well. Cey rakes, but holy fuck does he like to hit into double plays - leading the league. My pitching is fit strong so far!

Also over-performing is Rabbit - holy shit! And a bigger holy shit is with Mickey Mantle! Damn is he having a season.

I'd say the teams in first place right now should all finish top 4 and each is a favorite to win with some bounces going their way. Put a gun to my head, and I'd say it's really up to the 1. Hulksters, 2. Blue Footed Boobies, and 3. Montreal - 4. Ryno's team has heart, but I think their late inning heroics may reverse as the season goes along, but Clemens is top three in ERA now. The season is still early but I can only make predictions for what the results say.

A surprise is Steely Dan's team - they have the firepower, but the pitching is inconsistent and for some reason, their sticks go quiet. I don't know about Beef's team, firepower is there, but the pitching is meh and bad team speed. My team has horrible team speed and if Hack doesn't hit and the pitching isn't lights out, we won't go far. Ultimate's team I thought would do better - not enough firepower and guns on the bump. Purple Reign was looking really good, but their offense can disappear and their bullpen is shakey. And Fighton's Cleveland Spiders - Foster is a clubhouse cancer! And holy shit is the Arcade version of Tudor nothing like the NES version - all he does is get rocked.

Well, I'll cover other odd shit that I have seen at another time. Just 2 games left to score and then the recaps will come a little later ... then WEEK 7 with the boys of summer!

The Empire had their debut home opener at their new Imperial Stadium in Las Vegas. The atmosphere was electric and Lord Darth Vader threw out the first pitch in front of 103,333 fans. The atmosphere not only intimidated the upstart and first place Blue Foot Boobies, but it also energized the highest rated Arcade slugger, Hack Wilson as well as Ron Guidry who is second in the Arcade league in ERA.

Hack Wilson mashed 2 shots, drove in 7, and went 5/5 to lead the Empire's offense. Meanwhile, Ron Guidry improved to 3-0 and after giving up 6 runs in the first two innings, only allowed 1 run the rest of the way for his complete game win.

Vida Blue, the league's leader in ERA, wasn't at his best and the Blue Foots heart of the order wasn't necessarily productive.

How come the pitches-strikes stat is always the same number?

The Exposé won their 3rd straight in heroic fashion at Loverboy Stadium in Montreal and now sit atop first place by way of runs scored (4-way tie for first place).

Down 22-18 in the bottom of the 9th and facing Bruce Sutter, Lou Gehrig led off a string of hits before a out was recorded and just like that, the score was tied at 22. Reese hit a pinch hit double with one out which was followed by a 4-3 ground out that moved over Reese to third. The stage was set for Rabbit Mrnvil and he delivered a perfectly placed GWH to send Loverboy Stadium into a frenzy.

Mickey Mantle added 2 towering homeruns to his league leading 14 and he increased his league leading RBI count to 25.

The Purple Reign only have to wonder after a Bruce Sutter blown save and loss. They turned the tables after being down 11-4 to take a 22-18 lead into the ninth, but their failure to add insurance runs in the top of the 9th off Radatz didn't help their cause.

I don't track and register pitchers. That would take an obscene amount of time to score games to track each pitch. If we did, the games wouldn't be storming in like they will be until this season is done.

Down to their last out trailing 17-16, Jack Clark tied the game with an opposite-field-homerun. Ryne Sandberg then reached second on a double. Joe Cronin, with 2 outs facing Lefty Grove, hit an eye-seeing single up the middle to bring Sandberg across home plate for a Swinging Dicks victory. The win moved the Swinging Dicks into a 4-way tie for first place. Roger Marris and Joltin Joe led the charge for the Dicks on offense.

For the struggling Spiders, they showed a lot of heart and a glimpse of how dangerous they can be, but an ongoing theme is the struggle of George Foster who went 0-5 to drop his average to .300. The rumors are many for a player who has a 945 power and 16 contact with only 2 homeruns, but the reality is that if he breaks out of his slump, maybe the Spiders can string some wins together to move out of the cellar. In the history of the Fantasy RBI league, no team has ever started 1-5.

This team shouldn't have four scoreless innings in the whole SEASON, much less four to start a damn game. My hitting coach is on THIN FUCKING ICE.

U7 jumped all over Bob Gibson in the top of the first inning and never looked back as they quickly dismantled Steely Dans Revenge in a 22-7 mercy rule win in only 5 innings.

U7 led off the game with 7 straight hitters reaching base on hits resulting in a quick 6 runs before a out was recorded. They out hit the Steel Dans 30-14 and displayed their potential on offense.

Mike Scott had a stellar performance from the mound and J.Foxx and Nettls each had a pair of homers to lead the impressive Hulk Hogans to 18-12 win that was really never close.

Mike Scott improved to 2-0 and got his second complete game win of the year. He held the #2 offense Sides of Beef to zero runs through the first 4 innings. After taking a 13-3 lead in the 5th, the Hulk Hogans seemingly slept walked their way to victory. The Sides of Beef fought their way back to narrow their deficit, but each time they did, the Hulksters answered to put enough distance between them and the Sides of Beef.

The Sides of Beef have lost their third straight after their impressive start while the Hulk Hogans have now won 3 in a row to move into a 4-way tie for first place.

there's got to be something weird in the game's code.  There's no way my team could be this bad.  A team of Pedriqs would be more competitive

My two hole slot has some curse. I juggled my lineup again and put in J.Davis in the 2-hole and he killed us in multiple clutch situations.

GDavis' MWills had a day with his 705 power. I think he had 4 hits. And Musial, Lynn, and Nettles are way over performing above their attributes. Musial and Mattingly have the same contact and power attributes, but Musial is outhitting Mattingly this year by a mile.

This Arcade ROM is funky and I have no idea if there is a hidden glitch, but some things seem out of whack with a lot of players over and underperorming. Or it's just the random bad or good luck depending on the player and the game played when I go live. haha, Tempo's team really shouldn't be doing as bad as they are because on paper, they look feeling dangerous!

Not too many close games this week. I don't there was one. Some quick mercy rule games happened and we had a 1-hit shutout in 4.

Some teams look like they will be back in it for a title hunt with their showing. Nacho, Beef, and Ultimate's teams let the Arcade world know they are contenders!
