On the topic of homers by pitchers, I myself have never done it nor have I seen it done.  I have a buddy of mine who swears that he has done it TWICE by fernando Valenzula.  One homer went through the wall, and the other just cleared the fence.  He went on to say to he is definitly the best hitting pitcher.  Like I said, I have never seen it, but I am curioous to see if the Fernando reputation as a dangerous hitter for pitchers is true.

I have never heard of a pitcher homer that did anything but go through the wall, so I am a bit skeptical on that one...

Though everyone has their favorites, it seems that - within the game itself - pitchers have no separate hitting abilities.  Meaning they are all the same. I still think Danny Cox is tops, logical or not...

Maybe they are all the same--ability wise, but some a re more clutch than others. Enter Don Robinson. wicked stick.
You're going down, chainsaw.

Big Apple RBI Champ

I have played thousands of RBI games and have never seen anything near the fence.  I call bullshit on Fernando, although I rarely play with All-Stars, so maybe it's true.

I think that calls for an experiment.  Is there any way we can get federal grants to find out such an important question (Can a pitcher hit a home run?)

i think it is better to just leave it as urban legend... kind of like that damn sasquatch.
