Week 2, Game 4 - Oc @ U7

I did this game early since I'm leaving town this weekend for my 10 Year high school reunion. Oh boy, fun fun fun!!!



Game Summary:

When Kirby Puckett and George Bell hit back-to-back home runs to lead off the game, it was more than just a good start for The OC - it was an ominous sign of things to come. The OC shelled The Nimrods' pitching staff for 11 home runs as they cruised to a comfortable 20-11 victory in a Fantasy RBI League game played Thursday at Tengen Stadium.

Bell led The OC's (1-1) offensive onslaught with a 5-for-6 day, including three home runs and three RBI. Wade Boggs also went 5-for-6, with a home run, three doubles and four RBI as part of a balanced OC attack. Every starting position player had at least one RBI, and every starter except for Lou Whitaker homered.

The Nimrods (1-1) were in danger of falling victim to the 10-run rule after The OC took an 11-1 lead after three and a half innings. But The Nimrods attempted to rally, scoring six times over the next two innings to cut the gap to 11-7. Will Clark was the offensive star for The Nimrods, going 4-for-5 with a home run and five RBI.
