"Drinking and playing RBI is a great idea!  Kinda like drinking and, well, anything else!"- Kevin McDonald, Boston neighbor

JoeDirt

It's a song that Gob does magic tricks to on Arrested Development.

hey Joe! How do you and the other "serious" RBI players feel about intentional walks?

I invented the intentional walk in RBI and to this day I master it.

But honestly, Dirt, despite your reputation I doubt anyone would really accuse you of rigging the tourney.

Sure.   ;)

This is a hilarious quote from a 21 year old.  I was intentionally walking people when you were 6 years old.

Or, when you were still shitting your pants.  Yeah, that's right--you weren't potty trained at 6.

Well, I should've been honest.  We all know Dirt is gonna cheat.  But it really won't matter because whoever he pairs me up against will lose.

JoeDirt

I think I have a solution that will not allow for the doubt that I could/would cheat.  To be announced...

Also announced: fknmclane is hereby officially deemed The Final Countdown tracker.  I expect a daily post with an updated Count Down!

Great job on the count down post, fkn fknmclane...I knew a winner is you.

One point of observation, though--the COTUT is the biannual tourney in Chicago (Beales' tourney)...this is the "OH National RBI Tournament." ::)

Tournament Lottery:

Okay, here's how this is going to go.  Gantry is going to randomly assign a number btwn 1-16 to each of the following letters.  Without Gantry's knowledge, I will randomly assign each letter to a member of the tourney.  I will email this letter=name assignment to some tourney members, so it's all on the up and up.

Letter       Gantry Assigned Number
A                       ??
B                       ??
C                       ??
D                       ??
E                       ??

M                       ??
N                       ??

That's the fairest way without a live broadcast via webcam, so I'm down with that.  I think it's great that we're getting the pairings out of the way this early.

I'm going to take your NES controller and jam it so far up your ass that you'll need to learn how to work the 'A' button with your small intestine.

TommyD (MrOJ)

There's 13 posted as going, i just wanted to know...

Is there room for me (i mean its possible 3 signed up since then and just werent added yet) and if the room is all taken up, is it possible to add another bracket making room for more teams in the tourney?

Mr OJ--definitely come to the tourney--you live too close to not show.  The tourney is currently full, but you are welcome to be the first alternate...also, at the very least, they'll be a ton of people here who will want to get in side games...there should be a shitload of rbi play that weekend!

If by "13", you mean "16", then yes, there are 13 posted as going...

there are also folks complaining about the lack of Bobby Grich, Dwight Evans, and Willie Randolph.

TommyD (MrOJ)

Sweet, Ill request off work that weekend... I want to prove to ya'll that im not a complete asshole like one or two try to make it sound  ;D.... maybe a slight asshole at most  8)

Also, I want to meet all u guys so i know who im arguing, agreeing, or just making convo with... i think its extremely cool how this shit is all set up.

I'll admit, the first time i played RBI, i was not a big fan... couldnt stand the fielding and couldnt take the hitting at all... but  i grew into it and learned to like it as i got a little better.  My game is still wack, but it gets me motivated to become tite.

I look forward to meeting Mr. orange Juice, maybe I can get real lucky and MR. RBI can make it as well...

I hope you're aware that this is quite the competetive tourney, and there won't be much fucking around between more than half the entrants, so, if I break my hand punching you in the face, it's just going to piss me off to no end and I'll end up kicking you a bunch.

This isn't meant as a threat, all in good fun.

malnuboy

you better hope its not Orange Juice Jones, cuz he will see you walking in the rain and then proceed to beat you ass!
What do you got there, the 4 volt? I did you a favor.

TommyD (MrOJ)

i can hold my own, dont be fooled by the mini-crickets... but u take it all outta wack... borderline psycho.
