I learned something new about RBI today...was messing around with the Heaven/Hell ROM (very cool, by the way) and found out that if you have a runner on 1b and steal 2b and 3b and home all at the same time, it scores it as only 1 SB.

To clarify, I had a runner on 1b who attempted to steal 2b.  These runners are so fast that by the time the catcher could throw it to 2nd, the runner was on his way to 3rd...and the computer then threw the ball to 3rd while my runner stole home.

The computer recorded it as one total SB.

Interesting, I guess.   :-\

Some other interesting things from messing with this ROM:

If you steal more than 1 base on a stolen base attempt (take off from first and run around all of the bases, just cause they're so fast), it still only counts as one stolen base in the stats.

Dryden noticed this as well.  I guess the programmers never counted on multiple stolen bases on the same attempt.

How does it count in real baseball?  Don't know if people ever stole two bases straight without a trowing error...

I'd assume they'd count separately.  Still, at any level above maybe Little League, defensive indifference would probably have to be factored in for something like that, and you probably would give the guy at most one SB.

i agree with beef. another interesting note about baseball scoring is that in a double steal, say when runners at first and second try to steal the next base (2nd, 3rd base), if the runner going to third gets thrown out it is not scored as a stolen base for the runner who successfully stole 2nd.  it is scored a fielders choice.

This has been changed; they count it now.
