uh, this one didn't work out too well for the mets, did it. incidentally, does anyone remember when heep played for the sox? he was in the same class as randy kutcher and kevin romine - awful players way over their heads. only the red sox.

May 12, 1982 - The Minnesota Twins trade Rob Wilfong and Doug Corbett to the California Angels for Tom Brunansky, Mike Walters, and $400,000 cash.

I'd definitely say that the Twins got the better of that trade. They got rid of a .250 hitter with no power and a mediocre set-up guy, and received a guy with 25 HR, 90 RBI type numbers in return.

Interesting stuff, who got the better edge in this deal???    I know Brunansky is a horse for the Twins, but getting Wilfong AND Corbett in return???   That would be a solid pickup.  Wilfong is kind of like a poor man's Brunansky.

I brought that trade up in the Trading thread and nobody responded.  Wilfong has decent power in RBI, but not in real life.  How much does that $400,000 factor into the trade??   It would be nice if they used a little bit of that to upgrade the facilities at Tengen Field,

In those days, 400 grand was quite a bit of money.  Definitely enough to get a guy under contract for a year or two, I would think.
