Gantry

We have started action today at the Dee-Nee house.  Entrants are me, Lips, Potsie and Jason (aka Vitb6 or TO).  Game one is underway, Potsie with Minnesota and Jason with San Fran.  Spilman and Brunansky are the early stars.  Score is 11-9 through 5 innings...

Jason and I played a game of RBI 2 today, not terribly fun.  I did hit a couple of dingers with Eric Davis though.  I may pickup RBI 3 at some point since a few people like it so much....

Gantry

Another dinger for Spilman, to center.  Dee-Nee!!!

Gantry

Potsie takes it 17-15 in 10 innings.  Jason whiffed to end the game as Potsie subbed in Viola with two strikes.  Great game!!!

Lips (Ca) vs. Potsie (Det) up now

Gantry

Slaughter in the 8th by Potsie 20-9.  Not Lipitz's best game, though he did go yard with Pettis...

Vitb6

Just for the record, my game v.s. Potsie is under protest (by me of course).  IMO, the last pitch with Viola was a slight curve and therefore the whiff ensued.  The protest is still under appeal...

Gantry

Potsie gave up his game to get cigarettes, so Lips and I squared off.  Looking at the records page ( http://dee-nee.com/rbi/records.shtml), I noticed that the Boston record for runs was only 24.  So I took the BoSox, even though I suck with righties.  25 runs later I had a new record:

Boston 25, Detroit 17

Graciously gave up my game to call my girl, so Potsie (Det) and Lipitz (Bo) up now.

Gantry

Clutch dinger by Evans gives Lipitz a 24-22 lead going into the bottom of the 9th.  Does Potsie have the clutch?  This is what the other thread was about, who on Detroit is clutch?

Darrell Evans - Short pop-out to second
Matt Nokes - Short pop-out to first
Sheridan - Base hit to right

Potsie subs Lemon!, Bergman base hit to right barely beating the throw...

Lipitz bring in Schraldi!! Madlock fly-out to center.  Game over...

Lipitz 24
Potsie 22

Gantry

Lipitz (Det) takes me (Ca) down 19-16, one of my worst games in recent memory.  Reggie Jackson goes 0-5, I cannot remember that ever happening, though he did get an RBI.  Lipitz broke out in the 6th with an 8 run inning off of 2 BOPs and a pitcher hit.  Potsie (Ca) and Lipitz (Det) up next...

Gantry

Lipitz gets the slaughter, 18-8 through 5...

My turn...

Lips

Dee-Nee!!!!!!!!

Yeah, I'm a little drunk right now...but definitely a successful night.  I just slaughtered Gantry 15-5 in 7 innings off of 14 homers.  I was Detroit and Gantry was Cali.  Reggie started off slow again...continuing his slump to 0-6 (in two games).  Reggie eventually got his homer...but too little, too late.

I started 0-2, but I finished off strong...winning my last four games to go 4-2.  Now, that was solid.  Early on, my stroke was nowhere to be seen...but in the end...I honed in.  It was also solid to play six games straight.  It was all about my roomies having something to do right after they beat me early on (Potsie had to get to some cigs, while Gantry had to call Amy).

A very solid night.  RBI is awesome!!!!  When you win, it feels so good.

All I could say is... ... ... ...DEE-NEE!!!!!!!!
RBI isn't just a game, it's a lifestyle...

Vitb6

How come I knew you would say that...you weren't even there.  It's not like it was a slow ball and I was early or a fast ball and I was late.  It was an inside pitch I was off the plate, but I still contest that it curved too close to me and went between my bat and the batter.  Definately slight curve.  That's ok though.  When it comes tourney time I'll be there.  However, I'm not the fan of beer.  Still think it tastes like crap.  I may have to sub some Bacardi Silver instead.  I can't wait for people to flame me for thinking beer tastes bad.  Actually I can really only tolerate Amstel Light, I'd just rather have some Vodka.  OK....1.......2........3.......flame me...

you don't like beer?   Do you like chicks?  Sadly, I have to ask.

Vitb6

Unfortunately I'm not sure what chicks and beer have to do with eachother.  But since you are adamant about knowing my sexual prowess, yes chicks are good.

Gantry

Jason has the skill and temperment to compete at the tourney, but his ability to throw down booze is a big question mark.  He's not a big drinker, so the true test will come when he tries to play after 10 beers....

And I got no problem with you using vodka.  Feel free...

SmokedUBad13

Whoa, how do you incorporate vodka into the drinking game.  How much vodka constitutes a drink of beer?

You bring up a really good question because pouring a drink varies greatly if you like your drinks stiff or weak.  Personally, opting not to drink beer while playing is like slapping the face of our great game of RBI.  I am suprised that Gantry and Co. allow this type of disrespect to continue.  Its called beer...learn to drink it.  Because of you r stance on beer T.O., Your chicks call remains suspect.

vgp100

I do agree with sucka on the beer aspect. In high school a couple of my friends didn't like the taste of beer too. We broke their balls every time they made a vodka and kool aid. Eventually, they broke down.

A couple of years ago, I saw a poster:
Beer. Helping ugly people have sex since 1843.

So true.
You're going down, chainsaw.

Vitb6

Actually, drinking Vodka is like a slap in the face to the players in the tourney since I'll be forced to keep up the pace with those who are just drinking beer.  And BTW, I could give a rats ass what you call suspect.

And to that quote, "Beer. Helping ugly people have sex since 1843."
-  Maybe that is why Sucka rely's so heavily on beer.  Fortunately for myself I don't 'need' it.

I won't deny it, beer is defintily needed for this cat to do some humping.
