Against STL first inning, stuck out Coleman, walked Ozzie, Ozzie took off on the first pitch.

Bump (because I wasn't around during this thread's conception)...

The way I play (And OctoFranco) I (we) steal on literally every pitch with literally every player in the game, therefore it was pretty easy to make the transition to down+A after reading the FAQ...It also makes games a bit longer, I guess it's just a pattern we got into (plus, we're both really good at run downs, on both sides...Granted, not against each other any more) and now we do Down+A any time a pitch is thrown even when the player is breaking towards 3rd or home...

You should surprise him and pick him off one of these days.
I've been swimming in raw sewage ... I love it

Nothing more satisfying than a pickoff...   Just demoralizing to your opponent...

Attezzobal

We get late breaks unless it's with 140+'s, so it's very, very tough to pick each other off, sometimes it results in a rundown, but if either of us have Vince or Ozzie or what-not, we usually pussy out and just throw to second and let them go back...

Is this a result of a misplay or is it more of an unwritten rule between the two of you?

A little bit of both...I tend to play with the Cards much much more than Octo, and he tends to do his best to not get in a run down with Vince, like I said, we're both very good at run downs but when it comes to Vince I can usually win a rundown about 90%+ of the time, so he'll just throw to the next base and let me go back without a play on him...

Button fakes suck, and are tough to pull off online.

JoeDirt

Yeah, I suppose nobody here would be surprised to know that I like the button-fake tactic.  You know, since I am a cheater and all.

For what it's worth, you and Octo (at least based from when I played a few games against you online) play a very, very similar game, so that doesn't surprise me at all...

Nothing wrong with a button fake, I guess I'm just far too ancy during run downs and such and fall for it too often (although lately I've been getting better)

Gantry

Button fake is quality....
