Fantasy "Straight Pitch" League

I would like to create a fantasy ROM (8 teams), for a straight pitch league.  Reason being, I do not live close enough to any other RBIers to play in person, so I have to resort to online play for any (real) competition.  I do not believe anything other than straight pitch is good for online play, as you have to start your swing before the ball leaves the pitcher's hands (to make up for the time lag).
The way I see it, we can have a draft, then I will put the ROM together (using only players from the Original NES RBI ROM).
Since, I would like to have this league so we can all play eachother, I would prefer to limit this league to players who are able to play online (I can help you set this up if you need help).
For now, just let me know if you are interested, and we can work out the rules later.

I'm interested, but i'm skeptical whether i'll be able to consistently devote enough time to keep up.

Is the lag while playing online always that bad?  I'm not sure if i'd be able to tolerate that.

I think Stock may have add'l lag due to his friend connecting via dial up

It is not that bad, but clearly noticeable.  After a couple of innings you should have the timing down just fine. 

We don't even have to have a super structured season.  It can just be something that is done leisurely over the course of a given time period.  The fun part will be the draft, and the ability to play fellow dee-nee'ers online with a team they were able to pick themself.
You might want to try to play a game against the computer while in "network play", just to see how it differs.
For straight pitch, there should be no problems.  It is just for my experience, when you play "anything goes" you find your self simply guessing, since you do not have enough reaction time to adjust to pitches of different speeds and in/out of the strikezone.

Joe, what server were you using?  Is dee-nee.com playable again, or is starmen.net back up?
