John Franco got a whiff in a clutch bases loaded situation yesterday, saw the highlight on TV today...

ultimate7

He again pitched 1/3 of an inning but gave up a hit and a walk, leaving his ERA at 0.00 and his BAA at .500

Julio Franco got a whiff of ass when I farted near him

Another fantastic outing by Roger has his ERA down to 0.32, but still only 1 win.  Julio hitting .308 and John has his BAA down to .417

Clemens vs. Maddux, solid!  Even I am going to have to tune into that one...

Nacho

Great night for pitching matchups (as we've heard over and over on ESPN)...

Maddux vs. Clemens (was pretty good)
Mulder vs. Hudson (good game, but both guys sucked)
Johnson vs. Halladay (good game as well)

Gantry

Clemens run support has been absolutely brutal so far...

Yikes...

I take it some team is going to pick him up?  Are we going to be down to three?

BeeJay

Maybe the Cardinals will pick him up.  They seem to have a facination with light hitting, Latino catchers right now, and one of them just got hurt.
"Thank you Mr. Toilet Bowl..thank you for being cool on the side...you're the only one that understands me."

OctoFranco

Oh, Julio!  Two more hits today.  They intentially walked to him in the 9th inning tied with two outs and a runner on second.  Needless to say this was a managerial mistake, as  Señor Franco proceeded to drive in the go-ahead run.  Granted Kolb came in to blow the lead (and then the game) in the bottom of the 9th (also needless to say), but Julio still did teach them what for.  I wonder how long it will take until the opposing defense will starts putting the Jim Thome shift on Julio Franco (that is, with three infielders on the right side of the infield).

Also, I hope we don't have to change the number in the title of this thread.

Someone sign Benito already, I check ESPN.com twice a day hoping for a signing.

If I invent a time machine, who will go back to me to the time where ALL RBI players were in the real game?
Fernando Valenzuela can play every position, including the umpire, and does every night of the week, and nothing can stop him.

Does anyone know the last season when all RBIers were active?

Are we all still planning to attend the last game of the last RBIer and storming the field after the game (I think I saw that in an old thread)?

Well, I know off the top of my head that Davey Lopes retired after the '87 season, and Ellis (Tim Burks) did not play at the major league level  in '86, so it would've had to have been the '87 season if ever.  Did anyone of the '86 teams (Angels, Red Sox, Mets, Astros) retired after '86?  None come to mind...
I've been swimming in raw sewage ... I love it

Bobby Grich retired after the '86 season. I haven't checked all the players though.  A few of the Angels retired after '87.

Gantry

So basically there was never a season in which all RBI'ers played?  Joyner was a Rookie in 1986 and Burks in 1987...

Gantry

Also, Potsie emailed me that Santiago refused to go down to the minors.  Will this affect his chances of signing with another team?

JoeDirt

I doubt it.  Most would probably want/need him in a back up C role...I suspect that sometime during the summer, as C injuries occur, he'll start to get offers.
