I'm going to take your NES controller and jam it so far up your ass that you'll need to learn how to work the 'A' button with your small intestine.

Since nobody else mentioned it, I must.

Couple days ago the Rocket gave up a season-worst 4 ER in a mere 5 innings pitched, yet got the win.  This in comparison to going eight strong giving up only 1 run, only to take a loss.

The RBI universe is again in balance.

Also, anybody read anything about Benny lately?

ultimate7

Benny still not signed, haven't heard anything

Julio had another SB this weekend, but this time it was the back end of a double steal.  Also, this just in, Clemens is still good.

John Franco on the other hand is struggling with a 6.0 ERA 1.89 WHIP

He has pitched in 22 games but has only 9 IP, that is barely over 1/3 inning per game.

.297 BA against, as Ron Darling said of a guy with a similar OBA during an early Nats game, you couldn't "try" to have those kinds of numbers. (In actuality, this was about a reliever where lefties were literally hitting .650 coming into his appearance against the Mets, then it went up to about .800 after his appearance was through)

EDIT: Joe Horgan, and it was against righties, http://mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/was/stats/

I wish I could do cool links.

In an article I recently read:  "The Mets have discussed Benito Santiago. But nothing appears imminent."   ...and that is all.

Troublesome: http://mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/team/player.jsp?player_id=114374

John Franco pitched to three batters in his last outing, giving up two hits and a walk and being yanked before recording an out.  As you can see, his previous outings are short of impressive as well.  I fear I must ask the unspeakable thing that no one else has dared consider saying aloud...  Will Johnnie make it through the rest of the season?

It's likely that some contender will pick him up even if Houston cuts him (an experienced lefty out of the pen) probably Dusty's kind of guy.

Wait, I thought you said "contender"?

there are also folks complaining about the lack of Bobby Grich, Dwight Evans, and Willie Randolph.

fknmclane

Wait, Franco doesn't pitch for the Mets anymore?

"Franco's major league career spans 17 years."

That ain't right, is it?

JoeDirt

No, should be 21....not including the years he took off ('95, '98, 2000).

interesting, though--the last time Julio had 500 or more abs was 12 years ago!
