Wow.  As a RBI baseball lover let me just say that you guys are the game.

I especially love how you have embraced Wilfong, etc.  But where is the Danny Heep love?  He and The General Lee are pretty sweet PH options.

When we play, it's straight pitch, but we allow the drop (up+A) in any situation.  Houston becomes much better because Mike Scott can consistently throw drops into the 7th inning.  It is infuriating trying to hit off of Scott because it seems that the only pitches that don't drop are the ones you let go for a called strike.

Good to have you redsfan and thanks for the kind words.  I personally am a big Tim Teufel fan over Heep, but to each their own.  One of our friends (Nick, he has a profile) liked Heep so much in RBI that he called his fantasy football team The Danny Heeps...

Two strike drops in straight pitch defnitely increases the value of Mike Scott.  That bastard can drop pitches deep into the game...

I usually play with the Mets - no Reds is the only thing I can't stand about RBI - and I put Teufel in for Santana and HoJo for Backman.  So in late inning situations it's all up to Heep and Lee.

A FF team called "The Danny Heeps" would be superb.  My names usually suck.  This year I have a fantasy baseball team called "Dunn Deal."  I got all sorts of shit about it for the first month of the season, but Dunn is the man and he has my team in first place.

I go HoJo at #2 (I hate Mookie Wilson), General Lee at #6 and Timmy Two-Step at #8...

M-m-m-m-mookie and Dykstra can both do the Pettis fairly regularly.  If I try to pull the ball with them it gets ugly though.  I like to keep 2 PH back to hit for my pitchers if necessary too, so I figure Wilson won't kill me.  At least he won't hit into DPs like Gary "6-4-3" Carter.

Being an RBI lover in New York, let me just say this is the greatest site on the internet.  I play RBI almost every day.  I agree with 95% of what I have read on the site.  I don't understand why one would play straight pitch.  Pitching to me is the best part of the game- nothing like locking some knees on a backdoor hook from blyleven.

Just wanted to say you guys are awesome.

I think it's just what you get used to.  We play straight pitch like the dee-nee.com guys except we do allow drops with 2 strikes.  If we thew curves we would all suck for about a week or 2, and I think that's why we don't change.  It would be fun - the best part is there would be no more "Hey fucker, that last pitch curved!" arguments because everything would be legal.

It's tough to explain the appeal with straight pitch, but we're coming around..

We started playing curves a few weeks back and have enjoyed ourselves.  We're still 75% straight-pitch, but curves have brought back some newness to the game....

A recent policy we (Potsie and I, Lips and Sperling still haven't tried curve) have is to use the die for everything.  If the first roll is odd, we play curves, otherwise straight.  We then roll for teams.   I like this system, keeps things fresh...

the die is the way to go...   it will keep the matchups fresh...just like these interleague matchups...   never thought i would see the likes of the indians playing the spos or the braves taking on the southsiders...  i am a traditionalists but a few interleague games each year is fine by me.

I haven't been on the forums in awhile, but did I read that the dee-nee crew are using the die method for them teams.

That's right piner, we have picked up on the die method.  We were at a mall awhile back and they had a Gamers Paradise.  Went in to buy a Trivial Pursuit game and saw the dies by the register and picked up an 8-sided one.  Made our game much more exciting, especially when the tier-2 friends come and visit....

The RBI Baseball purists don't play straight pitch style, the game is all about working counts, fouling balls off, having a good eye, and forcing pitchers into throwing bad pitches.

and so called "Big Apple RBI Champ", what's that comment supposed to mean about Blyleven throwing the backdoor hook?  Is that supposed to be an indirect challenge since my login is Blyleven_No-No??

I am going to build a propoposal to challenge you to a real series, and if I win, you have to change your login to "Big Apple RBI runner-up"!!!!!!!!!
