Most of you know that dee-nee has an irc channel, located on Everywherechat.com. Instead of using the java based chat, you should all idle the chat using mIRC or xchat,  or something like it.

1.) Download mIRC (Google it)
2.) Add irc.everywherechat.com to you server list default port (6667)
3.) Connect
4.) Join channel #dee-nee
5.) don't ever close down IRC again.
Fernando Valenzuela can play every position, including the umpire, and does every night of the week, and nothing can stop him.

It's been suggested before. The whole reason we went with something that could be used via a traditional IRC client or an in-browser solution is because I don't imagine most of our users want to download and run yet another program, and I doubt many are familiar with IRC at all.

To help a little bit with clarification on both side - PHole is explaining how you can use your own IRC client to keep the chat going all day.  The benefit is that it's a separate program that you can run all the time, and simly minimize.  When someone posts a message, it'll flash like your instant messanger.  If more people used a separate IRC program, the chat area would be much more popular...

The downside to the IRC client is that it's a bit trickier and probably a big nono at work.  The java client (the one you use in your web browser) is easier to keep hidden but bad at staying up to date.  You gotta click over to the page often to see if anyone joined or said something...

They both have their benefits, most dee-nee members use the java client....
