I have a hard time believing it... If a member of Congress got pulled over for drunk driving, my guess would be that it is 50/50 as to whether the officer actually give him the ticket.  On the other hand, politics is a popularity contest, so Congress probably isn't the smartest bunch of goons, just squirrelly.  So I guess it's more believale than I might have thought.

Never realized it was first in a set...What are the chances that it's entire value come from the fact that it's a #1 and doesn't have a rubber band line through it, and nothing to do with the fact that it's a Griffey card?

I've got two Griffey rooks, somewhere, probably squeezed in between a Donnie Moore card and a bullet casing.

Not only was it the first in a set, it was Upperdeck's first ever baseball card.  And I doubt that many of these cards ever touched a rubber band, because by 1989, cards like this went immediately into some kind of bullet-proof, radiation-shielded container.
