And this will be my last post for two months.

Glad I could leave on such a note.

They don't have internet in Ukraine?
Ukraine is weak

let's trade them Al Gore for some vodka

I love Julio Franco, he's up to .270 now - I have a feeling he's going to hit .300 again this year...

Seems to miss every other game though.  The way he's playing, he should be in there every game...

Also, Eric Milton is fucking horrendous.

I could have told you that.
Last year, he had a decent record, but always gave up a shitload of runs. People liked him around Philly, but I never understood why.

I never liked the fucker. Aslo, he never seemed to get out of the sixth inning

I think once you hit your late 40's, you are justified in taking time off on a regular basis.  Really, though, this standard should apply to all jobs, not just professional athletics.

ultimate7

I don't think it's his decision, he's just in a platoon, so he only starts about 40% of the games or so.

Ah, forgot about the platoon.  The way he's hitting lately, he should at least get some more plate appearances...

Nacho

I wonder if he will eventually be reduced to a pinch-hit only type of role.  I don't think the Braves will want to get rid of him.  It's sort of like telling yoru grandma that she has to go into the nursing home.  You just ignore the situation until action must be taken (meaning Julio will be on the roster until he dies).

Attezzobal

He only hits against lefties. In the game where he had two bombs, he was pinch hit for by (big sexy) Laroche when a righty went into the game.

He was also one of maybe two hitters not used off their bench yesterday in the 11-8 loss.

As of last night, the Reds have given up 106 home runs this year.  Eric Milton is responsible for most of them.  He's a generous individual

Wow, Milton has already given up 25 homeruns this year.  Looks like he's on pace to break Bert Blyleven's record of 50 in a year.
I've been swimming in raw sewage ... I love it

I'm glad the Reds went out and got themselves an ACE to anchor their pitching staff in the off-season.  Who knows how bad this year might be if they hadn't bolstered their pitching.

Where's Jose Rijo when you need him?

When I was at GAB for the Rijo/Eric Davis Reds HOF induction, the crowd went nuts when Rijo threw out the first pitch.  Mainly because he threw a strike!

Julio Franco, 1B ATL

News: Julio Franco (virus) missed his second straight game on Tuesday against the Marlins.

Analysis: Franco remains day to day. Keep him reserved in all larger NL-only daily Fantasy leagues.

...I sure hope he didn't catch anything from MikeD.

Well, Julio had a pinch hit grand slam tonight

Oh yeah, here comes the math minor:

If Franco is the oldest player to hit a pinch-hit HR AND Franco is the oldest player to hit a Grand Slam, therefore Franco is the oldest player with a pinch-hit grand slam....

Actually, half that proof is unnecessary, but that is why I never finished up with my math minor.
