Is there a strip of bars in Columbus where we can do a pub crawl Friday/Saturday night?  Might be fun....Just sayin'.

There is a long line of bars on the Ohio state campus, my old man used to make the run back in the day...

Over there on High Street?  I remember seeing a lot of bars driving down there before...

JoeDirt

There used to be a long line of bars right on High Street (all owned by the same guy, btw)...but they tore 'em down.  I think OSU was tired of the atmosphere the bars created--basically on their campus.

Yeah, for sure...depends on a lot of things, though...are you guys going to have a car or are you going to cab it?  Are you looking for bars or are you looking for strip clubs?

How does this change anything?

Cabs go further than cars.

I want a strip joint on Thursday night, and some nice bars with girls to look at/talk to/make uncomfortable/creep out/take back to the hotel and lay waste to.  Is this possible?  Most definitely cabbing it.  I don't know any cops in Columbus to talk my way out of a DUI.

Well, jackass--if they're cabbing it, I want to send them to places around the hotel.  If they drove, I'll send 'em to OSU or downtown...

How far away are we from downtown? Are we actually staying in Akron?

Point being, I think that for myself at least, I'd be willing to pay for a decent-sized cab ride into town as long as I'm splitting the cost with a few other people...

there are also folks complaining about the lack of Bobby Grich, Dwight Evans, and Willie Randolph.

JoeDirt

Okay...point being, you guys can go ahead and figure it out yourself, then.

No, I'm not trying to be a dick...it just naturally happens that way.

I think that my point was that if the better bars in in downtown or near OSU, I would think that most of us wouldn't have a problem cabbing down there (even if it's a few extra bucks per person). If there are some good bars near the airport, that would be cool, too.

I did some research on bars in Columbus a few weeks ago. The results are here: http://forums.dee-nee.com/index.php?topic=3879.msg115148#msg115148

Joe: Are you familiar with any of the bars that I found?

Well, to be honest with you guys, I'm not a huge bar fly kinda guy...but, of your list, these are the more popular hang outs:

Downtown Bars (about 20 mins from hotel)

Banana Joe's
503 S. Front St.
221-2000

Ludlow's Bar
485 S. Front St.
224-1212

The Patio
490 S. Front St..
341-PATIO

Victory's Bar
543 S. High St.
224-0693

Dublin (about 25-30 mins from hotel)

Flannagan's
I-270 and Sawmill
766-7788

Flannagan's is probably the most popular on this list...it's the kind of place that has sand volleyball courts outside of it...

Check these places out, too.  These are at Easton (the premiere shopping area of Columbus--about 10 mins from hotel):

ps...all those phone numbers are area code 614.
