Has there been any proven physical evidnece that there is a power boost in the at-bat following a Bop?

It happened twice yesterday, First Jack Clark hits a grand slam after a bases loaded double play ball was doinked.  The Terry pendleton hits a 3-run shot after another botched double play.  Both Clark and TP left the stadium.  I had never seen TP do that.

Best guess is that there isn't, but I'll go check it out now since I'm bored ...

Doesn't appear to be. I played a 2-player game, California vs. Boston, with errors cranked. Pettis nailed the shortstop in the face for the BOP. DeCinces up next, showing 885 power in RAM, which is what it "should" be.

well, that didn't take long to disprove

My guess is this:

Following a BOP, the team committing the BOP is noticably pissed off.  Sometimes they find themselves in a "don't give a fuck" mentality, which often leads to grooving pitches.

That's all I got. ... .

No signature..... who the hell posted this?      ;)

Edit: Instead of just being a wise-ass, I suppose I could make a suggestion, although I'll admit I pretty much agree with Ryno that the cause is more psychological or coincidence...   What about a change in contact, as opposed to power?
I've been swimming in raw sewage ... I love it

Agreed, one of those "in your head things" like the old BOP because of a quick throw.  We have a very simple mathematical proof we blurt out after an error though:

If BOP, then homer...

I totally want to beleive the quick throw bop theory, even though it is untrue. It just seems like it is.
Fernando Valenzuela can play every position, including the umpire, and does every night of the week, and nothing can stop him.

don't you try to do a quick throw everytime you field?  then it can't be related to the bop.

Sorry, not the quick throw, an early throw (if you start to throw just before you field the ball)

No, I try to wait until I field the ball before I throw, since if I don't it makes the BOP more likely

Doesn't he mean ensuing?

yes, but i believe he subconciously wants to allude to insurance rather than law suits, the usage of "i" in his creative spelling ways.

This is exactly why I'm not touching JoeDirt's question about the run-in technique, or trying to disassemble the hitting routine. It just doesn't fucking matter.
