Perhaps have the tourney at its planned location and the dee nee fest at the dee nee house?   Then tourney players can stop by the house in the evenings for fun but still play in the tourney during the day (while still in it, at least)...

and we can still play rbi at the deenee house. FYI all, I have a latex allergy.

I'm not sure why I read every one of these posts  but let me throw my 2 cents into this:

Chicago is going to be one of the easiest places to host such an event because it is right in the middle for everyone.  However, I think having all these people at Gantry's would be hell.  I suppose people could just sleep on the floor but that sucks in and of itself, plus there are 2 bathrooms with only 1 shower.  Dah-Nah.  Not to mention that nothing is really close to the burbs and the places where all the fun is located, is too hard to get to (basically what Lips said).  Naperville is a quaint town but the same thing goes, except it is MUCH farther away from anything then even the Dee-Nee house is.  I would have to assume that part of the fun of the past weekend was people staying in the same hotel room and basically romping from room to room freely.  Because of this I would think that the best place to hold such a gathering is really Milwaukee.  Find some el-cheapo hotel and cram 5 or 6 guys in per room.  Splitting the cost 5 ways for a $75 room for 3 days should be doable for everyone.  That way you'll be able to fuck around in the hotel and be right in downtown Milwaukee where you'll be within walking distance of bars and restaurants etc....  While downtown Chicago is much better than Milwaukee, I hate to say it but people will be bored in the burbs and there is no way gantry's place can house everyone.  If we split people up to different locales that takes away from the fun and who wants to do that?  Staying in downtown Chicago is way too expensive for most.  I think people would have more fun in Milwaukee.

That is all.

Is there really anything to do in Milwaukee?

The dee nee tard mixed in with gantry looks a little bit like TBT

More to do than in Wheeling, IL.

It is Milwaukee, of course there is stuff to do.  What exactly?  Not sure, never been there for an extended period.

Not as much as Columbus I'm sure...

we really don't need "that" much to do, this is a list of the total number of establishments we went to.

-Taco Bell
-Brothers(night club)
-Strip Joint 1(name unknown)
-Strip Joint 2(name unknown)
-Steak and Shake
-Larry's Bar
-Hooters
-Airport Golf Course
-Gas Station for beer
-Minor League Baseball game
-McDonalds

I'm sure Milwaukee can offer this much atleast

and for the record its pronounced Mil-la-way-kee

why yes Pete it is.
What do you got there, the 4 volt? I did you a favor.

BeeJay

I think we should have it in Tampa.  Ybor City, minor league baseball, dive bars, strip clubs everywhere, beaches, meth labs...

Anyway, since I'm pretty isolated as far as the Dee Nee map goes, and there's no such thing as a cheap flight anymore, I don't really care where we have a get together (if it weren't for my parents making a last minute trip to the keys, I would have booked a flight late last week and popped in on Columbutt, stupid parents).  I figure that if I enjoy all of your company much so through a computer screen, anything in person is going to be a blast.  However, I agree with Vit's thoughts on Chicago and "the good land."  It'd be tough having it at Gantry's house, for reason's already mentioned.  I think a smaller, midwestern town would make the perfect place.  A place like Milwaukee would offer cheap lodging and a nightlife all within a small, centralized area.  In a city like Chicago, everything's so spread out that it could be trouble to enjoy as much drunken debauchery.  Anyway, whatever's decided up will be good for me, although Vegas seems like a bad idea for a big group of people who want to get to know each other.  Also, I just though of how funny it would be to host it at my parent's house in St. Louis, without telling them beforehand.
"Thank you Mr. Toilet Bowl..thank you for being cool on the side...you're the only one that understands me."

RedBarron

as long as ___________ has beer, beer, NES, beer, RBI, beer, beer, TV, beer, beer, MikeD, beer, malnu, and Wumpst , it makes no difference where we have it.

RedBarron

really, St Louis could work.  Centralized with somewhat of a nightlife.

I change my mind...Milwaukee sounds good.  However, we're gonna have fun no matter where we go.  St. Louis would also be an acceptable choice.  As would Ft. Dodge, Iowa.

I hope to not get laughed outa this place but what about Cleveland, I drove thru it on the way home it seemed like a "big" small city.

Keep in mind I know nothing about Cleveland, but I think we could score some easy group seats for an Indians game

Kane

And Alice Cooper's Town Restaurant may still be open across the street from the Jake.  A great stadium by the way.

Coopers Town is still open across from the Jake.  We went there before Lips' wedding.  That is where I destroyed Gantry and Stehling in 3 rounds of trivia.  Dee-Nee!

goonfest is in milwaukee every year and I had friends go to marquette. its a tricky situation up there with the bars. things are spread out there. Unlike, what someone said a few posts up, chicago is NOT spread out. Every street corner has a strip club or 10 bars and 5 fast food mexican restaurants.

Now vit, when you say naperville, or even deenee house, is so far away, from what? chicago? If we plan on visiting the city, then we should stay in the c ity. but I dno't think that's ideal for this type o event. honestly too, naperville is probably more fun than milwaukee and cheaper and closer to any airport. b/c with milwaukee, pple will probalblly be flying into chiacago, as it  will be much cheaper.
and naperville has all of these within a 20 minute drive:
-Taco Bell
-Brothers(night club)
-Strip Joint 1(name unknown)
-Strip Joint 2(name unknown)
-Steak and Shake
-Larry's Bar (plenty of these, regular and dives)
-Hooters
-Airport Golf Courses, about 4
-Gas Station for beer and liquor stores too
-Minor League Baseball game
-McDonalds

There are plenty of hotels nearby that give group rates also.

There are a million things to do in the city of Chicago and things are not too spread out at all.  The problem is getting there.  I suppose if people could split a $150 per night room 5 ways ($30/night) then why can't people just get a room downtown and cab/subway everywhere.  You can easily find a hotel cheaper than $150 although not much less.  I would recommend staying in Wrigleyville or Lincoln Park.  Not sure why people need to stay in Naperville or Wheeling.  To spend $100 on a hotel for 3 nights is something that I would think everyone could afford or could save up to afford since this is so far in advance...  But then again, I am just a talking voice on this one.
