For all you computer savvy RBI addicts out there, is there a NES version of the arcade RBI anywhere?  If so, how does one obtain it?  If there isn't, is there a way to make something like that?

I know about the ROMs but I'd die and go to heaven if it could be played on NES.  I doubt what asked is really possible, if it were you guys wouldn't be playing it on the computer.  But this is what I do.  Stupid questions are my specialty.

I just wiped my ass then smelled the toilet paper.  What's wrong with me?

If you're not counting the ROMs (which have the same players and ratings) and want the true arcade gameplay (no errors, more HRs), then no, there isn't a way to play arcade RBI on a NES emulator.  I'd guess it wouldn't be too easy to replicate it in a ROM, either - the differences are in the actual functionality, not just cosmetic stuff like color and stats.

If you really want to play arcade RBI on your computer, you should find yourself an arcade emulator.  I recomment MAME (Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator), at www.mame.dk - simply download and install the MAME32 image (assuming you run Windows; there are versions for other OSes), then put the ROM file (leave it zipped) in <install directory>/roms.  Gantry has a copy of the ROM on the site.  The interface is pretty intuitive, so you shouldn't have any problems.

If what you are asking is can you plug some mystical cartridge into your NES and play arcade RBI then the answer is no.

Good lord. I get busy with other things for a few weeks and you guys have already forgotten everything I've taught you. :'(

Kidding. Here's two solutions:

- rbi_arcade.zip
This is the NES game engine, with all the teams swapped out for the arcade teams. NES gameplay, arcade players. Woo!

- rbibb.zip
This is the actual code from the arcade game, packaged nicely as a NES ROM. You'll need to use an emulator that supports "Vs. Unisystem" ROMs to run this. Even then, the only emulator I've ever seen that can run it to any degree of playability is Nester.

Note that I've not had much sleep, and I'm "pretty sure" those zip files are the correct ROMs. If they're not, post again and bitch at me and I'll find the right ones. There's two versions of the rbi_arcade floating around, and that might even be the old one. Booo.
