Yeah, everyone knows that Tim Burks was the outfielder on the Red Sox in 1986. Unfortunately, he vanished off the face of the earth leaving no records of his existence. Coincidentally, a fellow by the name of Ellis Burks came to the Sox in 1987 with the same stastics that poor Tim had the year prior. Why this wasn't on Unsolved Mysteries is a mystery to me.

For those who need further justification, the stats from "Tim" Burks in RBI are the exact same as Ellis Burks' stats in 1987. The scandal is due to the blatant racism of the RBI programmers.  First of all those Japanese bastards made everybody white.  If that wasn't bad enough they stripped Ellis of his proud afro-name and made him uber-white.  That sucks.

I stand by the RBI bible on this one.  the player is Tim Burks. He had a great career in Boston, before being shipped to the minor leagues.   Old Timmy and I go way back, back to the days when he was a virtual unknown playing in Pawtucket.  Had all the potential in the world, until that bastard Ellis took his roster spot.

You guys are fuckin' nuts.  There's no Tim Burks.  It's Ellis.  I still have his Topps rookie card and Donruss rookie card.  He was a "future star."  Hits for power and average and runs like a deer.  Close to being a complete player if you ask me, and definitely my permanent replacement for Bill Buckner.

really?!?!  You bat him second?   He is the fastest guy on Boston, I prefer putting him in at leadoff, then letting Hendu hit in the two hole...then bat Armas eighth....Seems to bolster my offense quite a bit, but I dont play straight pitch so more guys on the bench may be an advantage in that...

It all depends on the mood I'm in.  I'd have to say that Hendu and Burks are interchangeable in the one and two spot.

Honestly, the only reason I still do it this way is because I did it like that when I was a little kid and things just stick.  Yes, Burks is faster and is more of a prototypical leadoff guy, but Hendu hits the ball to all fields.

Armas absolutely has to bat eighth for Spike Owen.  For some reason he just doesn't work anywhere else.  If you get those three guys in there the Red Sox offense is totally out of control.  Except of course for the fact that they have no fucking lefties!  Which is why I sometimes will leave Buckner in and let Hendu or Burks ride the pine.
