I'm completely with the guy when he said that it'd be pathetic.

Obviously reenacting using MVP 2005 or Madden is ridiculously easy to do, to do this was tough and I have a hard time believing that it had been done before.

I may be wrong, but everyone rips of everyone else in the music industry, this is new, and completely original and it would be pathetic for someone to rip it off.

Plus, really, what else can you reenact that would be nearly as interesting as game 6?

USC's Deckinger call was pretty good, TBG's Coleman was decent, but I'm not sure how accurate

you can do so much more with the still images, i wouldn't even consider it the same genre.

gibson's game 1 homer of 88 would be pretty easy to pull off in a video.

I'd like to see Pedro Guerrero doing lines

A few months ago, Sony recreated "The Play" using an electric football game for a commercial promoting HD.

I didn't mean that the specific inning or game had been done before. I meant that there was more than a good chance that someone had messed around and done something very similar in concept at some point in the past. I also didn't mean that it would have been done using any of the newer games on the market.

You're not wrong about the music thing, Kipsilanti. That was my point. He used a really bad example to support his belief.

I'd stated in another thread that the Gibson home run would have been great. It would not have been required to be nearly as long and could have probably been done more easily overall. The thing that stands out as being the most difficult thing of that game (inning) would have been the two strike roller up the first base line that went foul before the HR. Well, that and the tail lights on the cars beyond the outfield wall of those that left the game early ;)

I also disagree with him on that it would have been a waste of time if only a small number of people would have seen it. It should be rewarding regardless since it is a fine piece of work. And as I said, it is excellent and am glad he did it.

Gerlost, you're right. I'd forgotten about that. Obviously not identical but very similar in concept. Both are pretty entertaining.

That is why I dig most of you guys here. It is rare that anyone comes off as being overly superior to someone else without a little genuine self deprecation thrown in at some point. :)

Have you met Rack?

Gantry creates an entire online empire of RBI love, gets people of all different backgrounds to contribute to the RBI cause on a daily basis, and what thanks does he get?

DAMNIT!

I missed TBG's tarp picture until just now and I think I hurt my shoulder laughing so hard.  Fkn gold, TBG, gold, I tell you.

Shooty, I thought I covered my ass in those statements  by including the words "most" and "rare"  ;)

fathedX, the tarp pic is indeed priceless!

Another still that would be easily re-created would be the "Jose Canseco- ball of his head in the outfield for a HR" shot. The RBI player animations for a BOP would be perfect for it.

The thing that makes game 6 great though, is that it's using almost only RBIers (obviously a few exceptions).

Eckersley wasn't in RBI, Gibson wasn't on the Dodgers in RBI, Canseco wasn't on the Rangers in RBI (Neither was Carlos Martinez), so sure, you can do it, but nothing will come close to as good as this was, ever.

Plus, this was the reenactment of more than just one play (Denkinger, Gibby's HR, Canseco's HR, so on), so it was much more difficult and much, much more impressive.

That would be a good one to do

But who called that game?

I think the play-by-play has as much to do as the recreation.

Doing a Blades of Steel or Ice Hockey recreation of the Miracle on Ice with Al Michaels call would be the cat's meow.

fightonusc

Al Mochaels actually did the call of the Dave Henderson HR against the Angels in the 1986 ALCS. I believe that Jim Palmer was the color guy, although it might possibly have been Moe Jorgan.

there are also folks complaining about the lack of Bobby Grich, Dwight Evans, and Willie Randolph.

This film just made the front page of /.. Maybe we'll see increased interest in RBI!

Ok, probably not. But I was still shocked to see it ...

Bump.  We watched this at Chaddonis's bachelor party this past weekend.
