Another doozy from Dylan Gentile, the guy who made the new RBI Techno theme.  This an an acoustic, laid-back version of the RBI theme.  This guy is my hero, thanks to Blyleven for sending me the mp3.   Make sure he knows that his work is appreciated!

BeeJay

That's awesome.  It'll go very well with the acoustic version of the Zelda theme I have.

Gantry

He does real good work, obviously quite the talent.  When it comes to music and art I am completely worthless.  Resizing images is as artistic as I get....

Ryno23

That's fknmcawesome!

I've been screwing around with some stuff on the guitar --- might try a metal version and see what happens, but this is the bomb.

Scroope

Metal version would be all power chord basically.  Maybe some fast shredding. Post it when you are done. I'd do one, but it was your idea first.

It may sound odd with guitar-only. . . . . but it is fun to play.

I'm having trouble getting the correct key for RBI, too.

The dee nee tard mixed in with gantry looks a little bit like TBT

BeefMaster

That is impressive.  Does Dylan Gentile have a website or do any other recording?  He's put together some neat stuff with the RBI theme; I'm curious as to what else he does.

Gantry

I only know of him through Blyleven, so hopefully he can chime in with more about our resident RBI composer...

fknmclane

This is fucking unreal.  The RBI music has never sounded so good.  LIstening to this put me in a very good mood.  Nicely done.

I just wiped my ass then smelled the toilet paper.  What's wrong with me?

the dude either has some high float or a mess between the cheeks.

Baines

Quote from: Gantry on 07/21/18, 01:51:34 PM
Baines may have hit a homer with Baines, yelled Baines and immediately changed into a Baines jersey.

You know who's the best? Baines...

TβG

that is unbelievable... i waited all weekend to hear that.  i hope dylan knows how much we appreciate it.  great work!

on a side note:  i used some final fantasy music for my wedding when my wife walked down the aisle.  my cousin burned all the music and he and i came up with that parrticular song for her.

challenge:  someone must now do the same for their bride when they get married.  (playing rbi before the big plunge is awesome, but someone needs to work this in)... at least play it as a lullaby before your kids nap or something.

what a beautiful song.  just in time for the holidays

That is insanely cool.  Gantry, I assume you've put this up on the regular site?

It's awesome.
dee-nee i love you because

I was playing RBI in the limo on the way to a wedding this weekend with the groom, but still, that doesn't top Baines or dove.
I ain't no god damn son of a bitch
You better think about it baby

Yes sir, check the latest front page update...

This version sounds like it belongs in a Ken Burns documentary.

that same artist won the NYC RBI tourney.  Amazin'....

Blyleven_No-No

I just spoke to Dylan, he was surprised to find out how much his work meant to the RBI community.  He has no website yet but i will fill in some of the details.

Dylan went to undergrad at USC along with FIGHTONUSC (although they don't yet know each other) and later got his masters degree in music from Manhattan School of Music in New York, and is now a member of the Los Angeles Master Chorale living in the LA area.  Check out the group at:

http://www.lamc.org

He is quite accomplished as well in RBI, Dylan was the winner of the 2002 NYC tournament with the Mets, defeating some tough competition.  His login name on this site, BurksForLeadoff, comes from his insistence on  pinch hitting Burks for Marty Barrett when playing with Boston.  I can attest to the incredible power and average that Burks does hit for in that leadoff spot, especially because I can't pitch around him and Dylan always burns me.

OK, he has to be involved in the next tournament of the West Coast RBI Baseball group. We usually play Sunday afternoons, and we're looking for a fourth player to gte an actual tourney together.

Have him get in touch with me - or sign up for the board.

there are also folks complaining about the lack of Bobby Grich, Dwight Evans, and Willie Randolph.
