Start a seperate thread since the Draft thread should end up pretty long.  Thought about Potatoes #1, but had to go with the best Cub in the game.

The Hawk?  I woulda gone with the lefty power, but that's just me.

I'm not sure how much Lefty/Righty matters for CPU games

I'm not that suprised that Ultimate7 decided to go with the Hawk for his first pick. Even though he's frequently been an undreachiever in live play, he's got some great measurables, as evidenced by his 954 power rating coming out of the combine. With computer play, that's tough to ignore.

ShitPaw's also raided the All Star roster with his opening selection of Mark McGwire. With no steroid testing in this league, he's sure to put up big numbers.

If I feed him steroids, will his power numbers go up?

Try www.dee-nee.com

Seriously the links on the left side of the main site for each team have each players stats

Go to the Dee-Nee site and look under "Teams" for ratings on all of the players.

Let's go back to Dee-Nee draft anaylst Mel Kiper for a breakdown of the first round.

Mel?

I thought that there were some real reaches in the first round. Mark McGwire has a lot of power, but I don't know if he was worth the No. 2 overall selection. Still, he's only one of two IFs with top 10 power numbers, so if you're ShitPaw, it makes sense to lock him in there.

I didn't get poolstroke choosing Eric Davis in the first round at all. To me, that was a major reach. Certainly, he would have been around in the second round, and that pick could have locked down someone like Reggie Jackson.

Speaking of which, BeefMaster has to be happier than a butcher with a fresh slab of meat that Potatoes fell into his lap with the fifth overall pick. That's great value, and so was GreatScott getting Jose Canseco at No. 7.

I was thisclose to grabbing Canseco instead of Reggie - Jose has slightly higher power and speed ratings.  In the end, though, I realized that I hate Jose Canseco.  If I need a statistical reason, Reggie has a better contact rating.

I had to go with Edavis  for speed and power reggie dont cut it for me in that department. If it was live reggie was the man. Staying with the same  in 2nd with Gibby, speed and power prevails in close games.

I thought picking up Kimmy Gibbler in the second round was just fine, especially being an IF.

So, is the first SP chosen going to open the floodgates of everyone else choosing SPs?
